Teddy Bridgewater potentially done for the season?
|
Taylor tore his groin off the bone against the Tacks. It was the first game after 9/11 and he ran up the middle, dropped the ball, and went down like he was shot. No one really touched him. Gus Johnson said he "took a hard shot to the stomach", lol.

I was at the game. Gotta admit, at first I thought Fred went down like a....well....like someone who was fragile. After hearing the truth, it's pretty horrifying and I can fully understand dropping the ball and grabbing myself.

There is SOME correlation between weak muscle groups and non-contact injury. Nothing truly definitive though. So saying Teddy was at increased risk because he has a smaller/weaker frame isn't necessarily wrong, but it's not necessarily right either.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
Quote:Fowler wasn't simply dropping back without contact as Teddy was. He was engaged with a lineman in a pass rush situation. No it hasn't. Teddy has been sacked at a higher rate than even Bortles and has still held up despite his frame. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:His groin tore off the bone. Yes, so there was actually 2 fumbles on the play, maybe even 3.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Using that logic, small men are usually weaker than big men. Is that what you're saying? Quote:"With the 1st pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select, Deshaun Watson, quarterback, Clemson" Not so fast. Minnesota has a good defense.
Quote:No it hasn't. Teddy has been at a higher rate than even Bortles and has still held up despite his frame. In what way has he "still held up"? He might never play again. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:In what way has he "still held up"? He is probably referring to Teddy's durability on contact plays. Quote:"With the 1st pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select, Deshaun Watson, quarterback, Clemson"Not even close man. Browns, 49ers, Bears, Titans and Chargers at least will all have worse records. My money is on the Browns like everyone else to get Watson and actually start building a competent roster. Hue Jackson and Watson are gonna do great together.
Quote:Not even close man. How about let's wait until they start playing games that count to make our predictions? This topic needs its own thread. Quote:In what way has he "still held up"?He played almost two full seasons behind a god awful line and was sacked at a ridiculous rate. His frame held up. Got injured on a non contact play in practice that could have happened even if he had a 6'6 250 sized frame. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:He played almost two full seasons behind a god awful line and was sacked at a ridiculous rate. His frame held up. Held up until yesterday. Like you said, he's been hit a lot, there's no way you can definitively say the cumulative effect of that many hits in conjunction with his size didn't contribute to that injury. Quote:Held up until yesterday. You are right. The flipside of that is there's no way you can definitively say that his small frame led to his non contact injury. From what I gather the ACL tore first ,which destabilized knee and led it to disloacte.

Quote:Using that logic, small men are usually weaker than big men. Is that what you're saying? Generally speaking, among elite athletes, bigger men are stronger. These are guys who are among the best athletes in the world. We're not talking Joe from your gym vs Bill from McDonalds here.

A guy who got hit as much as he did and still stayed healthy every week for two seasons would tell me he has the frame and is tough enough to survive in the NFL though. This seems like a freak injury more than anything else.
Quote:I suppose Pirkster is right it is a valid question. He wasn't healthy for 2 seasons though. He missed time his rookie year with injury
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
Quote:He wasn't healthy for 2 seasons though. He missed time his rookie year with injury Matt Cassel played the first 3 games and then Teddy took over when Cassel got injured. |
