Final cuts have started

Quote:So seems like we're in between "waves" of cuts right now. Haven't had a new name in a bit

We have until Saturday at 4:00 to finish cutting players.

Quote:Holmes probably to PS.

Davis may get a look from Dallas.
They certainly need pass rushers.

Speaking of cuts, has anyone seen any cuts from other teams that could step in for us at G or K?

Edit: I see the Bills cut Cyril Richardson. Doug Marrone coached him there. Perhaps he may be a consideration.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Looks like the reason Jack played weak side LB last night was so he can provide depth at two positions.

I'm guessing they plan on going light on LB in order to keep an extra RB.

What's the reaction going to be if they decide to cut Smith after all?

Makes some sense, though they are relying on two guys with injury concerns-Poz and Jack-to stay healthy for the 5 LB thing to work. To me I would rather go with 6 LBs than 4 TEs.

Quote:In trying to get a count, I see we did sign a player to get back up to 75 first. In case you missed it, here's what happened...

Shaq Evans was waived in the first cut down to 75, but then after that they waived/injured Tony Washington and then re-signed Shaq Evans.

So now with Armbrister, Holmes, Davis, Tripp and Barnes waived, I'm showing 70 players on the roster with 17 more to go.

Why didn't we just cut Tony Washington first and keep Shaq Evans?

Quote:Tripp cut

Like I said yesterday Tripp will be cut

Hmm.. they might have to 8 OLs afterall in order to keep a 5th RB unless they actually do go a player light on defense, but I just don't see the latter happening.

My guess is they discovered Washington had an injury they hadn't known about.

I've got 69...I think you are Missing the OT Hill, who was also identified as one of the cuts.

Wait a minute, you reply to a post about LBs by mentioning OL? That makes no sense.

Five RBs is too much unless one of them is only on ST.

Yep 69 right now. I'd expect it to be down to 60-63 tonight them the remainder tomorrow.

It is pretty hard to imagine they would not know about an injury to one of their players.

I'm looking at overall roster size, and Grant is primarily an ST guy. On offense he'll mainly be used on gimmick plays as a scat back.

Well if they knew, they must have changed their mind about how serious the injury was.

Quote:This is a bit surprising considering how desperate we've been for a pass rush and some legit talent at OTTO. That said, this is a huge sign that Hayes Pullard III is making the final roster. I'm wondering if Pullard can play OTTO.
We dont really need a backup OTTO, the starting OTTO is not even on the field that often, they can always throw Jack in there or stand Fowler up at OTTO some times, Fowler is really good rushing as a LB, I think the only reason we havent seen that is because he missed a full year and they want him to learn LEO first.
