Get Josh Sitton- G NOW!

The Packers backup guard for Sutton would start on quite a few teams so that's another aspect of the release.

Quite a few playoff teams? Or a team like the Browns that does not try to win? I watched enough Green Bay games last year to quickly figure out there is no replacement for Josh Sitton.

The idea from the Packers guys on twitter is Bulaga moving inside and Spriggs hopefully being ready for RT.

Interesting. Bulaga has played at RT his entire career IIRC.

I agree with MissJags... dumb move by Ted Thompson. A very dumb move. Sitton has been reliably solid for GB. And nearly always available.

I root for both the Jags and the Packers. As a Packers fan I was unhappy to see House released, but then thrilled to have him wind up here in Jacksonville.

I hope that - once again - Packers' loss can be Jags' gain.

I thought Lang would start. Either way they are fairly well covered.

Lang is already the starting RG. They hope it goes:

Bakhtiari - Bulaga - Tretter - Lang - Spriggs

Saw that us, Tennessee, and NY tried to make a deal with GB but they all fell through.

Where'd you hear that? If so that's good news, we're interested. And hopefully coming back home would entice him.

Nvm, I read it from a 3rd party source but tracked it down to a BCC tweeter. Those guys are annoying.

Damn. Oh well, still sounds like Dave is interested.

With Bortles absorbing the most sacks of any QB over the last 2 seasons, that alone should be reason enough for Caldwell to make a serious run at this guy. With Luke "The Matador" Joekel playing ANY position on the OL there's an increased risk of BB5 taking more unnecessary punishment. Hopefully Bortles himself is in Caldwell's ear to get a deal done ASAP. The bottom line is if you don't protect your hand-picked franchise QB, you run the risk of making the same mistake the Texans did with David Carr.

So who are we competing with here?

Patriots- not enough money I'd say

Seahawks

clots

Giants

Browns

Bears

Chiefs?

Saints?

With the Titans new ground and pound, I'd add them to the list.

I wonder how comfy Blake is ...

Let's say we actually sign him. Is guard a position that would allow him to start right away,or would we see Joeckel week 1 regardless?

Depends on his ability to learn the scheme/playbook. I'd bet Luke would start and if he was playing bad Sitton would plug in.
