I will be attending his first playoff game today Vs. Tennessee State. There are suppose to be a lot of scouts out again to be looking at him. Hope Jags get this guy! Go Jags

I like him a lot... But we can't afford to develop a QB for 2-3 years. If we took him, I wouldn't be upset. I just would rather have Bortles/Manziel/McCarron/Boyd.

I started a thread about this guy in an attempt to learn more about him a while back. Gil Brandt isa fan, but to be honest I haven't kept tabs on him.

Anyone have any recent news about this QB?

Yeah he plays on ESPN 2 this Friday vs Towson. Had a decent game last week against Tennessee State. I was in attendance and he had 240 yards with 3 tds all coming in the first half. He only attempted on pass in the second half because it was already 37-0 at halftime. He made one or two bad throws that is about it. It was windy and around 10 degrees out.

He seems to be generating a lot of buzz on these boards lately. I'll watch Friday before I form my not so expert opinion on him

He's this years Joe Flacco. Not stylistically, he doesn't have that size or the cannon of an arm, but he is quite good. I mean star D2 player that is shooting up the drafts as draftniks/scouts are getting a grasp on his skill set. I loved him as a developmental guy when I thought he'd be a day 3 pick...but now that he's looking like a day two pick it's a bit too rich for my blood. Maybe in round 3 we'll see.

As stated above, he plays for Eastern Illinois. The thread that is linked in my post has a link to a cut up of some of his games.

I haven't watched all the way through, but he does seem a bit limited by his arm; unreal production though.

I'm no expert but his arm seems to be good enough, maybe like an Andy Dalton.

I've only watched 1 game that was recently put up on NFL draft breakdown, I think playoff game againts Tenn State.

That's the impression that I got; maybe I didn't make my point well enough. He doesn't have the strongest arm but he has enough there to get him on a roster.

He looks like a solid mid-round guy with potential down the road. Maybe a team like New England take a flyer on him.

As long as he's not the only Quarterback we draft, I'd be okay with him.  But I wouldn't count on him being the future of the franchise.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Houston takes him at #1 for sure.

I posted in the "Teams that need a QB" thread Gil Brandt's article that divides quarterbacks into three tiers (with the first having only three names) and says which teams should draft quarterbacks. One quarterback on the list is Jimmy Garoppolo.

No way are the Patriots drafting a quarterback that high. Except for one season with a torn ACL, Tom Brady has never missed a game since he became the starter. He will not retire soon.

it's a wild theory but  they don't have that many weaknesses in their side especially if people can stay healthy. To me they need depth plus the start of their season showed there is talent at developmental positions and this is a draft with a huge number of potential qbs that need developing. If they don't think mallet is the guy and their guy is their I reckon back end of the second round
