I think Nick knows mamasita is not who they all think she is. He's smarter than anyone of them so far. I made the joke to my husband that the junkie is the smartest of all of them and he agreed.

Madison locking Celia in with the walkers was probably the best moment of the spinoff.  


Nick and Chris went crazypants.  Travis decided to stay with his crazy son instead of going back to his wife. 


Everything feels kind of rushed.  They get to Mexico, and spend all of two episodes at the place that's supposed to be safe.  Madison wasted NO TIME killing Celia.  Of course that woman was crazy, and probably would have poisoned them all.  Would have been nice to get some buildup.  Same with Chris.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

Everything feels kind of rushed. 

 

Both series feel that way to me, they spend a lot of episodes dragging the build up and then crash it all in 30 minutes to move to the next plot arc. I know they only have 16 episodes a year for about 7 years to tell the whole story, but they spend too much of that time on minutiae and blow right past big events.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

I'm trying to like it because my husband does but it's just so slow. I like Nick. Everyone else is just......useless. I can't stand his mom after last week's episode. She coddles him because she thinks he's no better than his father. Kid has issues but you aren't protecting him by coddling him to you stupid woman.

Not a fan Nick tbh.  Or any of the characters, really.  The only thing I liked about last week's episode was the walkers falling off the balcony.

At this point in both fear the walking dead and the walking dead I am rooting for the zombies.  All the characters are flat and boring and the overuse of the same themes is getting old quickly.  Basically ruined a great genre by bringing it to a wider audience without spending on important things like quality writing and character development.


These people need to start watching Fargo, breaking bad, better call saul, deadwood and learn what quality television can be.

I like FTWD better than TWD because it more clearly mirrors the atmosphere of the George A. Romero originals that were used for inspiration.  The characters are not universally liked but that's because they're not supposed to be.  In the zombie apocalypse everyone's inner jerk will come out.  That's just the nature of mankind which is probably the whole point of these stories.

Romero originals that were used for inspiration.  The characters are not universally liked but that's because they're not supposed to be.  In the zombie apocalypse everyone's inner jerk will come out.  That's just the nature of mankind which is probably the whole point of these stories.

The suspension of disbelief is just too much because no one is as dumb as ALL of these people seem to be. Without every big decision being the wrong choice there's just no show. How much different would it be if everyone wore a meat curtain into danger since Rick and Glenn in TWD episode 2 and whenever Nick figured it out in FTWD?

"Naw man, this is my last pair of BDUs and that fat bastard shot Coral. I'm gonna give 'em an Otis Strudel instead."

No, there are plenty of people who are as dumb as these people seem to be.   That's realistic.  But since they're the main characters they get plot armor.  Their stupidity should be costing people their lives.  Look at TWD Season 1--more than a few people lost their lives because of dumb decisions  The fact that most of these characters are alive is what's unbelievable.
