Derek Carr's stock is rising fast according to report
|
One NFL GM told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that no QB is rising faster than Fresno State senior Derek Carr. And that is before the Senior Bowl, which is an event that Carr should perform very well in thanks to the lack of pressure he will face. Carr has the arm to hit every throw with touch or velocity, but he is somewhat untested in tight spaces. He reminds us a lot of Jay Cutler. Rapoport added the quarterback even has a chance to be the No. 1 pick. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I'd rather take a QB in the second than waste a pick on Carr in the first. Yep, me too. Quote:Good, I hope he is. I don't want him as a Jag. Honest question: Have you seen him play? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Honest question: Have you seen him play? lo, everyone says the above crap as a method of trying to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with their lovefest of the moment... To answer the above lameness, Uhmmmm yes several games worth, and as recently as last weekend, remember - the Fresno st/ Utah game?
Every time I hear Carr, I think of his god awful brother... and that is my silly reason of the day for wanting nothing to do with the kid. Sorry David... I mean Derek.

David was widely expected to be the #1 pick. Why did so many people think he was even the best quarterback in that draft, much less the best player? The Manning brothers are proof sharing some DNA does not guarantee success or failure in the NFL, however.
Hes good. Teddy's good. Barr's good. Etc. Trust the regime.

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
If they believe he can transition to the NFL and draft him, then I'll stand by their decision. He looks good but he'll definitely have to correct his footwork.
How the heck didn't he get a Heisman invite? He is the epitome of what the Heisman represents. Or at least according to the definition lol.

Why did so many people think he was even the best quarterback in that draft, much less the best player?Bad example. Don't they have 3 super bowl wins and 3 super bowl mvp's combined? A better example would be Matt and Tim Hasselback.

Quote:lo, everyone says the above crap as a method of trying to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with their lovefest of the moment... idk if you agree TMD, but id rather have manziel than carr. carr is going to be a bust. manziel has more upside and just needs to mature a little bit. personally manziel as a gamble in the late first or early second is a whole lot better than gambling with carr in the top of the 1st
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Bad example. But everyone knows Eli is not even close to catching up with Peyton. When asked, "Who are the best NFL quarterbacks?" nobody ever says, "The Manning brothers." Of course we all know Eli is very good as well, but everyone knows he will never make the "best quarterbacks" list. I totally forgot about Tim Hasselbeck. Other brothers who have played quarterback in the NFL are Ty and Koy Detmer. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Not enough rushing yards And a QB (can't remember his name) who is a finalist has less than 3,000 passing yards. How can he be a finalist and somebody else not have enough rushing yards?

Ideally, I'd rather have neither. But if choosing between the lesser of 2 evils. I don't trust Carr, between the bloodline to an NFL BUST at QB, the gimmicky offense, never taking a snap under Center, the happy feet he started to show in the Utah game when finally facing a team that had a good pass rush.... Quote:And a QB (can't remember his name) who is a finalist has less than 3,000 passing yards. How can he be a finalist and somebody else not have enough rushing yards? His name is Jordan Lynch. He also has over 1800 rushing yards this season with two 300 yard games on the ground, usually with the heisman as a QB you either have to be a dual threat QB (Manziel & Lynch) , or be on a great team with lots of exposure if you don't have many rushing yards (Winston). |
