Tackling Melvin Gordon

#1

The guy has some power and keeps his feet moving. Just seeing some of the Jaguars defensive lapses in the run game both this preseason and week one, I'm wondering if how they'll fare against him after watching these Gordon highlights from week one...

Not worried about him at all. Lacy was shutdown all game apart from that 28 yard scamper. More worried about Woodhead than Gordon.

Wrapping up is the key. Jags let Lacy and crew break some tackles last week that helped lead to their demise

He had the same game Yeldon had last week just one more rushing touchdown. He had like 19 or 20 some odd carriers for less than 60 yards on the ground. I am not sweating him as much as I did Lacy. The only runningback so far that concerns me on our schedule first is the tacks tandem. Haven't seen enough of Miller yet with the tinhorns as well. Obviously Peterson with the Vikes is a concern too.

Ehhhh, I'm more worried about Woodhead.

Gordon is a great back in the making, but he's not all there just yet and I don't know how large he looms in their game plan.

Woodhead and Gates figure big as Rivers go-to guys and our SS, nickel DB and LBs need to be keyed on those guys, IMO.

I'll just echo what everyone else has said. Gordon is no Eddie Lacy
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

The guy has never even had a 100 yard game in his career.

He is pretty far down the list of things to worry about from SD.

Coming from a guy who is scared of his own shadow.

If the Jaguars get bested by Woodhead, Gates and no names at WR then they deserve to lose.

Ridiculous. All of them ought to be shut down and we have more than enough talent to do so.

Woodhead is who I'm worried about.

Gordon had 695 yards total last season. He had a 3.5 YPC.

He had 57 yards last week.

What are we supposed to be afraid of again?

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

This is the same poster who compared Corey Grant to Darren Sproles, so......that means Gordon is like 2009 Chris Johnson I guess.

Kill Woodhead and we'll win.

I hope they give Gordon 35 carries personally.

Every player on the opposing offense is going to look like a monster and will give us problems like usual. Mostly due to poor discipline and lack of tackling technique.

No pain, no gain.
