And if we lose tomorrow...

Gus already has his Parliament tour booked in London. They can't fire him yet.

Come on guys coaches take 5 years to develop...
If we get embarrassed on the west coast again even without Ivory and Amukamara we're back to just business as usual. 0-2 isn't a death sentence especially in the AFC South where the real season will be decided but we need to get a taste of victory.
No pain, no gain.
Even if we win huge tomorrow, the usual Gus bashers will still have a firm grip on their pitchforks.
Only a chump boos the home team!

I could stomach a loss that was a close game, with a reasonable explanation for why we lost (Bortles gets hurt and Chad Henne sees any action, etc). But if we lose by more than 1 score, and I have to see Jaguars coaches with their hands on their hips, looking up at the stadium screens and looking lost during the game, I will be questioning what is NOT being accomplished with our coaching.

Do people honestly believe with all else being identically equal that any other head coach would have had dramatically better results than Gus has had?
Looking to troll? Don't bother, we supply our own.
Serious question. If the Jags proceed to lose tomorrow and win the next two games and go into the break 2-2 how would you feel about that?
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
Quote:Exactly. I hate to break it to everyone but i really believe this team lays an egg tomorrow.I don't really expect any thoughtful posts out of you.
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.

I don't believe this team will ever have consistency under Gus' tutelage. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Hypothetically speaking of course. This is why I see tomorrow as the most important game of his career. If we win in a somewhat dominant form and carry the momentum from a decent showing against GB, Gus may just be the guy and have turned the corner. This team should never get blown out again.
Quote:No, he gets an extension IF we get to the play-offs. If we don't win the division and make playoffs he better be gone.
No Fun

Count me as one ready to move on from Gus tomorrow if this were to happen.
That being said, we're gonna win so it's all good
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
It feels weird saying that its a must win, but it really is. I want Gus to be the coach we all saw in Seattle, not this perennial loser. If we can blow the Chargers out, we could carry momentum against Baltimore and potentially blow out the Colts like last year. London is actually a tough trip for teams that have never been, and even tougher if they're playing against a team that is firing on all cylinders. Starting 3-1 would be special for the team and this fan base.
If we suck tomorrow, I just think it'll take all the hype and energy out of this team. The losing trend would continue against Baltimore, and then the Colts would probably emerge in London. Can't drop this one, the schedule is setup perfectly for a run.
Quote:Serious question. If the Jags proceed to lose tomorrow and win the next two games and go into the break 2-2 how would you feel about that? Depends on the type of loss. A bad loss that isn't even a contest, will obviously have me angered. It will leave me with a lot less confidence in our team, and more pessimism. I would never give up on them. Don't think I could if I tried. But I'm allowed to be upset with my team. I take ownership, as a fan. If my team sucks, a team that I have invested my emotions in to, I'm not ok with it. I'm a problem solver by nature. If it's not working properly, diagnose the problem and correct the problem. We all have various ideas of what the problem may be, but all of us fans have the same vision. We want to see our team win, make the playoffs, and win the super bowl. Honestly, even if we get a point where we were to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, I would still be watching every Jags game for the rest of the season, trying to diagnose and speculate about what is needed. 2-2 is better than 0-4. That would offer some hope of possibly making the playoffs. My expectations will be lessened if we play poorly tomorrow, but I wont throw in the towel. It's possible some will, but in reality I think they won't give up either. There could be some looting.

A loss is a loss...if he doesn't win against a battered Chargers team, this guy should be fired. Period. It's year 4, how much time and players does this guy need? Our players are so much better than a lot of rosters, but we still find ways to lose. That's on Gus. ![]() Quote:If we don't win the division and make playoffs he better be gone. The way the Texans have looked I wouldn't say that. If we finish 8-8, 9-7 and miss I don't see Gus getting canned. 7-9 would be close, I'd rather see us move on if that is where we sit but if we don't I wouldn't be furious or anything... |
