Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady

In their prime, who would you pick as your QB if you were an expansion team.

I love both players and are very good with their respective talent. As cerebral and efficient Brady is, one of the best in history, I am more enamored with Rodgers skill set especially in today's NFL.  I would give Rodgers the slight edge because though he is one of the elite, not sure if he has reached his ceiling yet.

Aaron Rodgers, any day all day.

Rodgers because he is not a crybaby who kicks people on purpose during slides.

Brady.

For the most part, that guy has been clutch late in big games (especially early and in his prime,).

Even the first Superbowl he lost against the Giants:

Giants D stifled them all game long. But, with a couple minutes left, he drove the Pats down for the go ahead TD to Randy Moss, even after not being able to do basically anything the whole game. It wasn't his fault the Pats D gave up the game at the very end. Plus, David Tyree, lol.

Can't go wrong with Rodgers either. But, I don't really recall him having to be clutch late in games very much. Maybe I'm wrong, idk. Seems like I've seen some of his games where the Pack have been behind, needing a clutch TD, and they haven't got it done.

He's awesome though. I guess most of the time they're up big already.

So you really think Rodgers would be the better quarterback.

I tried to laugh at you but couldn't.

After reading the thread title I was thinking they were going to fight to the death and I was going to root for Rodgers.

After seeing the op I see that is not the case. I will still go with Rodgers anyway.

In your initial scenario, it's not even close. Rodgers all day.

In the OP's scenario, still Rodgers for me but it is a lot closer.

Just wondering, why is this thread only about two quarterbacks, neither of them being Peyton Manning? What about Drew Brees? We should be talking about all four elite quarterbacks here.

If you average the stats out over their careers 9 seasons with Aaron Rodgers, 2,653 yards (avgs), 26 Tds, 5.5 ints, 25 sck, 105.2 rating

compared to Tom Brady's average over 14 seasons with 3,463 yards, 25 Tds, 9.4 ints, 24 sck, 96 rating.

Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round, he has earned 5 trips to the Superbowl and won 3 of them (2 of which he was the MVP).  He has been in 8 Pro Bowls, and holds the record for most TDs in a single season.  He is 17-7 post season highest win in NFL history, and longest win streak 21 & an undefeated season, blah blah he is great.

Aaron Rodgers went to one superbowl and was the MVP along with AP player of the year for that season in 2011.  Twice he led the NFL with passer rating, TD to Int ratio, only qb to have a career passer rating over a 100, blah blah he's great too.

At this point any NFL fan would have to award Tom Brady with being the better QB, but that doesnt mean over time that Aaron Rodgers might be better he simply needs more years to try to achomplish the things Tom has regardless of his great current career stats.

Tom Brady for the win, that being said I would still take Peyton Manning over either of them!
