Now that Gabbert is back there is a chance for someone other than CS3 to actually get looked at.

He can't be listed as a running back anymore because of the number switch. If you play a specific position, which most players do, you have a limited choice of numbers. For running backs 16 is not one of those numbers. Tight ends can't wear it either and he actually never played that position.

I understand the logic, but because running backs are not allowed to wear #16, it makes me wonder if this means Denard Robinson can't play the position he was drafted to be without going back to #29 jerseys.

It might work with good blocking from the offensive line, but so would a lot of other things. It certainly was embarrassing to see a fifth round pick hyped as something of a new offensive concept.

I think a 3-0 team wouldn't use this type of gimmick. The OW position I thought was cute as a story in the pre-season. You know, during the long hot grind of camp over the summer, the whole "Offensive Weapon" thing probably got a few laughs and helped get the players mind of the heat and pain of getting back into football shape--for a little while.

But no legit team would do something like creating a position name and roll with it in the regular season. I'm sorry, but it's just very lame, silly, and not serious minded enough for the NFL regular season where focus and hard work with no distractions is the key. I really can't belive they didn't drop the whole OW stuff after the 4th preseason game. The article makes fun of us because we gave them a perfect reason to make fun of us. He's called the OW, and he's not even being used? ugh...

This is a small error, no doubt. Nothing to hemm and haw about, but something that I would hope Bradely learns from...

Never really understood the NFL's desire to standardize every single little minutiae. One of the downsides of the league.

They're not dictating where we can or can't line him up.

They just simply don't recognize OW as an actual position.

Teams line WRs up in the HB slot all the time, why would it matter?
