Poll: Should Gus Bradley be Fired this season
Yes

Fire Gus Bradley (MERGED)

I don't mind Olsen, our offence improved drastically with him last year. Get rid of Gus though, we HAVE to be 2-2 by the time we come back from Wembley.

If we lose the next game, Gus needs to be let go. We make Marrone interim; then, at the end of the season, we address whether or not we take away the interim and make him our head coach.

If not, these are the guys I am looking at:

Todd Haley - From North Florida. Head coaching experience. Great talent developer, schemer, etc.

Josh McDaniels - Offensive genius. Head coaching experience. A great schemer and someone who can assure our talent reaches its max potential.

Guys I hope we don't look at:

Greg Roman - Former roommate and teammate of Dave Caldwell, so he will get a look.
New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL

I think Ditka was one of those.

After the Draft I predicted the Jags to have a 7-9 record, this was mainly due to our tough run of games despite the added talent. Now we're into our 3rd game of the season, I'm not even sure where we get 7 wins from. If we don't come back from Wembley with a 2-2 record, how long do you think it will take, if it evens happens, for Gus to lose his job? You may call it a meltdown and with it only being week 3 but realistically, where can you see us picking up 7 wins or so for play off contention?

Quote:We're going to look like a dumpster fire towards the end of the season.

Will Allen Robinson sign an extension with us? Telvin Smith? Prince? Linder? Hell, what about Bortles? People are overlooking this big time. Deion Sanders got the hell out of Atlanta when he had the chance, you have to think these players don't want to constantly lose and waste their careers with an inept franchise.

ARob, Smith, Linder, and Bortles all have another year on their contracts (Bortles 2 if we grab the option) Prince is the only one we could lose out on. So when we fire Gus, all of those guys besides Prince will get to see the new direction before having to make a decision.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I would be disappointed in Josh McDaniels. I don't find him to be a likeable guy and I wasn't impressed with how he was as a HC first time around.
Only a chump boos the home team!

Gus' staff game plan? When did that start?

Gruden already has Carson Wentz in the hall of fame. You think they were dating after all the love he game him last night.

His gameplan for every game was created before week 1.

The game plan is to go out there and compete and get better! Learning opportoony! And halftime adjustments are "we got stung, now we have to go out there and demonstrate our Jay-gwires spirit man! Alot of great growth out there today man!"

Quote:Richard (aka "BAD WORD REMOVED") Vermeil won the SB with the Rams after being in the booth retired for several years.

Add Bill Parcells to that list.

It would really suck if the Jags were stuck with the next Parcells or Vermeil instead of the next Chudzinski.

Jimbo Fisher? Yeah, probably not.....

The next coach needs to be the opposite of Gus.........tough, less player-friendly.....also, a bit more cerebral, technical, and detail-oriented.  Well, a lot more.  Gus just looks like a much more likeable version of Rex Ryan to me, at this point.  And, obviously, that's not intended to be a compliment.

(Btw, all of the above describes Jimbo Fisher to a T................although, I'm not necessarily recommending that course of action)

My only reservation with Jimbo is he has zero NFL experience.

Whoever our next coach is, I just hope he is detail oriented and a tactician. Going all the way back to JDR, I can't tell you how many teams would out scheme us. Man, it would be amazing to just once be on the other side of that.

Quote:Marrone hasn't developed the OL into a unit that can be relied upon to be effective and consistent. How is he the savior for this team when Gus eventually gets the boot?

No doubt, he'd be the interim head coach if the dismissal happens mid-season, but I don't see him as a viable long-term option.

Not to be someone who can't let go of the past, but I've spoken to some inside the organization who have indicated that Tom Coughlin would be a viable option to replace Gus. The team is well aware that he feels like he's got more good coaching left in him, and from what I understand, they agree, and are not terribly concerned about the age. It would be interesting to see if that actually comes to fruition.

What we saw yesterday SHOULD trigger the end of the Bradley era. It won't happen this week, but if the team continues to look this bad through the bye, he'll be done. There's no way the team can carry him beyond that and hope to keep the fans.

I guess the coughlin possibility is less of a pipe dream than I originally thought.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:The entire staff needs to be gutted from top to bottom. You have to cut the diseased tissue out of the organization or it will grow back.

Disagree --- given Marrone a shot but get rid of any of Gus' good ole boys (Wash & Dwayne Walker) that never proved they could coach in the 1st place.

Quote:I don't really understand the fascination with Jon Gruden. I know he had some powerhouse offenses in Oakland and won a Super Bowl in his first season with Tampa Bay, but he was a sub .500 coach in his remaining six years in Tampa Bay. In fact, in his seven seasons there, Tampa Bay only finished above the league average twice in yards and not once in scoring:

2002: 18th in points and 24th in yards

2003: 18th in points and 10th in yards

2004: 23rd in points and 22nd in yards

2005: 20th in points and 23rd in yards

2006: 31st in points and 29th in yards

2007: 18th in points and 18th in yards

2008: 19th in points and 14th in yards

Tampa Bay's success was largely due to Monte Kiffin and the Hall of Fame talent they had on the other side of the ball.

Jon Gruden isn't really a good coach. Tony Dungy built that Bucs team and left. Jon Gruden comes in and all he has to do is be a decent coach because that team Tony Dungy built was a good one.
