[SERIOUS] Can everybody take a collective breath and step back from the edge of the Modus building?

Quote:Did I defend the coach?hahah 2 chances?! You are so delusional man. You really are. Let's go ahead and throw out the first 2 seasons. Last year he went 5-11 against the easiest schedule in Jaguars history. He continued to get blown out of winnable games and never adjusted his defense even though it was getting torched. Then this year, he can't beat a sub par team when he has a far more talented roster. Gus has proved he can't coach. Do you think he's the best man for the job? If the answer is no, and why wouldn't it be, then you should move on now and see what Marrone can do. Gus has instilled this loser mentality where all you have to do is get better each week. And when they don't? He does nothing. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
We don't need more cowbell, we need MORE BUBBLE SCREENS!!!
The bubble screen team, the bubble screen team, the Jagwads are the bubble screen team!!

Quote:It's the record after 50, FIFTY, half-a-century Games! It's not two games. I mean seriously.Seriously? Then keep in mind that up until this season Gus hasn't really had the talent available on the roster to be competitive. Dave has said that given the talent we've had up until now it's a wonder we've been as competitive as we have been. So to reiterate; Gus has not had fifty games with an acceptable level of talent to work with on the team. He has had exactly two games with decent talent out there. We played potential super bowl contenders and were in the game until the last play. We then played the bolts and absolutely (for some unknown reason) came unglued. That's two whole games, not fifty, with a decent roster. Look...we all knew the rebuild (after such a massive gut) was going to take at least several years. Well, the rebuild is essentially over and we have a decent roster for the first time since Gus has been HC. He's had exactly two games with that decent roster. Both of those games were losses; one was merely disappointing and the other was unacceptably bad. Every team (even really good teams) occasionally have a wildly bad game. So okay; the wheels came off that wagon this past Sunday and we stunk out loud in front of everybody. Nevertheless, it is irrational to suggest (demand, rant, rave, foam at the mouth, etc. etc.) that Gus be fired after only two games into his first season with a decent roster. I'm not a huge Gus fan myself; I'm just not 'into' his 'ra-ra' style of coaching. However, what matters is results; specifically, the results at the end of the season. If Gus were to be fired now it would virtually guarantee a losing season. While we have coaches already on the team who would suffice in an interim role as HC, none of them are really worthy of consideration as the full time HC here going into the future. I say this based on the two primary candidates prior coaching history; both have losing records as HC's. Plus there is the fact that with a new HC there is almost always major changes in personnel, coaching philosophy, and scheme. For the players to adjust and learn these things takes time. So if a HC change takes place you can probably kiss seeing positive change (positive change being defined as a winning season) not 'just around the corner'. We'll be starting all over again. Don't get me wrong; I'm not telling anyone that they shouldn't be angry over that abomination that took place in San Diego. That was unacceptable on multiple levels to look that...bad, really bad. And yes, when all things are considered it boils down to a coaching failure to not have this team more ready than they obviously were... not. But what I am saying is that to rant and carry on that we want Gus Bradley fired now (after just two games into the season) is not reflecting much rational thought and that people are talking without thinking and venting their emotions with little regard to long term consequences if what they are 'demanding' comes to fruition. It's okay to be angry about this past Sunday... but carrying on the way many on this message board forum are just makes us Jags fans look foolish. Quote:hahah 2 chances?! Problem is I can't throw out the past 3 years or any of the stats. He is 1-13 in the first quarter of seasons. When you look at the game by game scores, the results are down with one game peaks each year. He has never put together a winning streak or showed improvement in game planning or execution. His teams are highly penalized on lining up incorrectly, false starts and illegal formations which all point to preparation and discipline. EDIT: Quoted your post to support it further.

Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011 Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past. Quote:Seriously? You are asking for a fool proof roster before holding him accountable. I gave him a pass on years 1 and 2 and didn't worry about the record. Last year was a sham when you consider how many cheeseballs down the center of the plate he was giving. Career backups, has beens and never will be's at QB over and over again and he didn't do anything to put the players in line to take advantage. We are witnessing a stubbornness to adjust, adapt or properly game plan. This isn't about being blown out of the building last week. This is about players on the field put in unwinnable positions and expecting to win.

Quote:Yes, there are plenty of cliffs in Orlando let me tell you. I've been here about three weeks now and I've almost fallen off about 10 different cliffs already.Haha, what part are you in? I've lived here since the beginning of 08, and I can honestly say that even though my heart lies in Duval, I could never move back. This city is wonderful.
We are Jaguars.
The Jags took a serious beat down, the game was over before halftime. I don't think anybody expected that, even with knowing how we've routinely played on the West coast. Maybe they just had a bad day...I don't know, but if they don't win the next 2 (which won't be easy), I honestly believe Gus should be let go and give Doug Marrone a shot.
Have you seen my baseball?
Quote:Did I defend the coach? To be honest, to say he should be given the year so he can prove one way or the other implies that there still is a question as to his coaching ability. It's a subtly implicated defense of the coach to an audience that has come to an overwhelming consensus that Gus sucks. So you are defending him. You are trying to hide an explicit defense so you can then retort to any attack with the "I never said" deflection. But we all know that you are defending him. You still hold out hope that he can turn on around. Most of us realize that he sucks. I too ignored the first two years. Last year was enough for me. No matter what anyone says, our roster last year was good enough to go 7-9 and win the depleted afc South. Gus couldn't get this team prepared enough to execute. He's just not the guy for the job Quote:The board is so great to visit when it's just nonstop bashing. Ugh. Non stop losing leads to non stop bashing. Are we supposed to be singing this team's praises right now and singing kumbaya?

Quote:The board is so great to visit when it's just nonstop bashing. Ugh. This message board and the therapy provided is the only reason I still engage Monday through Saturday. During the Vic Ketchman team is falling to pieces period, I read him daily and devoured the site content (Radio Show Replays, News Conferences, etc). I have been unplugging more and more from the main site. Football is a distraction from the daily grind and it is cathartic to get it out when your team looks so inept. My wife was born and raised in Jacksonville and has begged me to follow a different team. I can't do it because I know winning will feel so good because of the struggle to get there.
