Fire Gus Bradley (MERGED)

Makes perfect sense for the Jags to hire the first female NFL head coach. After all, they hired the first male NFL cheerleader too.
Have you seen my baseball?

These are the viable candidates. Do it Caldwell, do it now.
Jen Welter (served as intern for the Cardinals linebacker coach) or Kathryn Smith (Bills special teams quality control) Quote:One of the Kardashians or Trump. Trump would be a good coach. Build a wall around the stadium and keep the losers out. Ban all immigration of bad players to our roster. And best of all, he won't cut players, he'll tell them "ya fired!" It's gonna be YUUUUUUUGE

I would love to have Sean Mcdermott. He has made Carolinas defense into one of the most physical defenses in the NFL. He runs a 4-3 scheme and rarely blitzes. He sends in four defensive lineman to rush the passer, relying on the seven players in coverage to cover well. I would like to keep Olson at OC with Mcdermott has the HC. Mcdermott would have a lot of young talent to work with. Jack, Ramsey, Fowler, Telvin, Yannick and the offense is loaded.

No doubt he would be better than Gus but that's isn't hard.

I don't know anything really about the Panthers, I am just wondering who is calling the plays and who's defense it really is?

Quote:this is kinda old... but To play devil's advocate, everyone on that list besides Reid and Dungy was fired from their second stint as well weren't they? I guess it depends on how you look at it. Half glass full vs empty.

Not a popular choice I'm sure, but Pete Carmichael Jr.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:To play devil's advocate, everyone on that list besides Reid and Dungy was fired from their second stint as well weren't they?I think being a HC and failing gives you a leg up. You know what works and what doesn't. Now, if you continue to do the bad things anyway, then it won't work obviously. But I think a guy like JDR who had mild success here, could have a long career tied to some young core players in Oakland/Vegas. I think his time, especially those last tough seasons, here did wonders for him. Look at Hue, was a HC for Oakland when it was a bit of mess. Fired too short. Now getting his shot to turn around Cleveland. To be determined, but most think he can make it respectable. Pete Caroll obviously has done well, his 2nd stint coming many years later. I don't think there is a right or wrong way. Some of it is luck. I still don't think many coaches come in and magically make this team a winner. But a change tends to spark a little something, and an offensive minded HC that is willing to let his DC run his own scheme is where I think this team will be headed. 2nd chance guys on the market of the offensive background could be a guy like McDaniels. Who made poor personnel decisions in Denver (Hello, Tebow) but years later with a few seasons back under everyone's favorite HC Belicheat could make him a hot commodity. Maybe even Todd Haley, who, would actually be getting his 3rd shot, iirc. AZ, KC, next up? I just don't think DC can afford to go with a completely unknown, like a hot young OC that just got on the map, or some college coach who doesn't know how to deal with a team full of grown men.

I agree that a coach can learn a lot between HCing jobs, but a coach should be able to learn something between 4 failed seasons, and Gus appears to have learned absolutely nothing between year one and year four. Where is the logic that a coach can't actually improve during his first tenure?
