Tulsa Shooting

Quote:Is it a big problem? Or is the media pushing it as a big problem? Statistically it isn't a big problem at all and in most cases can be considered an anomaly. Okay fair enough, what about crime in general then. Wouldn't mandatory body cams be beneficial for all areas as long as they are small/light enough that they don't impede an officers movement. One death is enough to enact different procedures and protocols.

I would think so, but I also don't work in law enforcement so I can't really say for sure. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I think body cams will become mandatory. It will help LEO's in the future as they are correct in their procedures 99.9% of the time. The cams will prove this to be correct in time. As far as the .01%, well they will be punished as law dictates for their crime. I do think maybe something like the ability for them to have it disabled while in their cruisers as that is basically their cubicle if you will should be a option. If they are out of the vehicle interacting in their public capacity cameras should be on.

Quote:Your just flat wrong on this PERIOD! Negative. You don't alter proven effective procedures on statistical anomalies.
Quote:Negative. You don't alter proven effective procedures on statistical anomalies.Yes you do. You don't have a clue what the hell your talking about. And couldn't be more wrong in this. RCCA is performed on every non conforming action or incident in just about every business or profession. Are you implying law Enforcement has no quality control over their procedure at all? I highly doubt that. Also this isn't the first Tulsa incident so it's not an anomaly. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Exactly. She was scared. She shouldn't even be a cop. She should be tried for murder.Well, statistics have long shown that female officers are more likely to respond with deadly force than males in the same situation. Clearly women shouldn't be cops or something. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

I work closely with law enforcement and I can say that I can't remember hearing an officer say they don't want them. Our county officers currently do not have them and our city officers do. Our county has looked into getting them and I'm positive they will have them eventually. They are a positive tool for law enforcement. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:city budgets are usually tight. i think the problem is they dont want to pay for everybody's gopro Most departments would not have a problem with body cameras. They can save money on litigation and payout of civil lawsuits.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.
Officer Betty Jo Shelby has been charged with a crime.
Good work Tulsa DA. Quote:Officer Betty Jo Shelby has been charged with a crime. Too bad someone had to lose their life because of someone else's "mishandling" of a situation.
