I Still Believe in Bortles - merged

I feel like Blake's (and the Jags') best chance of success lies with letting Blake be Blake. Enough of the short yardage throws, the dink and dunk plays. Bortles does well when he throws the ball deep. Let's open up the offense.

He'd at least be putting our defense in better field position when he throws picks.

The picks have nothing to do with Gus's defense being terrible. The defense was #5 when Del Rio was here and #25 when Mularkey was here. Gus took over and it's now 31st and 29th the past two years.

Of course it has nothing to do with defense.

The picks have everything to do with Blake's accuracy and timing issues.  He really needs to get better in those areas.

If he took two steps forward last year, he took one really big step back in San Diego.

My post was only intended as humor, but I guess that's no fun for you.

Bortles is the best player on this terrible team. He will continue to be a Top 10 QB; A Rob has regressed and gets zero separation. Doubt Bortles resigns here, FYI. NFL will want him in a large market instead of a Casey Gus Bradley coached team.

The best player on this team gave the ball to the other team last week three times.

ALL BY HIMSELF!!

Three times. All on Blake. 100% his fault and no one else's.

Did you miss that?

Unacceptable.

Jags would franchise tag him atleast once haha. Team can turn it around with a new coach I hope and Blake just play better.

No Fun

Where you a Jags fan before we drafted Bortles? Or were you a UCF fan? Just curious, because you're protective nature of all things Blake is odd.

I don't get the point of this thread. As of right now Blake is not the problem in a long shot? Is he the future? It remains to be seen. But as of right now this thread is pointless and stupid.

New Jersey Jaguars fan.

Blake doesn't suck.  He's one of my favorite Jaguars. I bought one of his jersey's as a gift to a family member. He's great.

But he was really bad last week.

Blake is infallible in his eyes. It's just the way Space rolls. Blake's mistakes don't contribute to any of the losses endured the last few seasons. They're "irrelevant".

Coaches make mistakes = relevant

Defense makes mistakes = relevant

Kicking Teams make mistakes = relevant

O-line makes mistakes = relevant

WRs n RBs make mistakes = relevant

Blake makes mistakes = irrelevant (it's to be expected and overcome by the rest of the team) (Turnovers and consistent 3~n~Outs don't affect the outcome of a game in any way).

For some reason, if anyone mentions a mistake made by BB, it must mean that they are blaming him only, and supporting the defense and coaches instead. That's the only thing I can figure, idk.

Space quotes yearly rankings like that is what happens during every single game.

He must not have seen the Thursday night game vs Tennessee last year; or the first Colts game; or the Bills game when the defense basically scored 3 TDs; or the SD game when Blake threw an INT deep in his own territory: or the Ravens game when he threw an INT deep in his own territory; or the Panthers game when he threw a pick-6; or the Texans game when he threw a pick-6; or the Falcons game when he threw an INT that went VERY deep into Jags territory; etc etc.

Irrelevant.

All he sees are overall stats. He doesn't compute individual games or situations.

Big Ben, Big Ben. If he'd have considered the conditions in the game for Pitt vs Cincy, he would've seen why there was a lot of turnovers and bad numbers. He would've also seen why Cincy had the very same issues.

But no, it doesn't compute.

I was a Jags fan and a season ticket holder in the Coughlin/Del Rio eras. I went to UCF so I'm a fan of both. What I'm NOT a fan of is Mike Mularkey and Gus Bradley. Most college coaches are better. The leadership in this franchise is AWFUL.

Put it this way.....if Bortles was on the Texans right now, Texans would be Super Bowl contenders.

I think Blake would improve the Texans but not by much honestly.

why you say that because on the texans he would have better coaching as well.

Blake top 10? You may want to go and see at what point in the game he racks up his impressive stats. .

For the people who are complaining about Blake Bortles as a player who would you rather have an option for this team right now? Unless you want to pin your hopes on Dakota Watson or Brad Kaaya to be the next Savior for this franchise. LOL
