Coaching Comparison

Quote:Won't matter how Blake plays if the defense keeps getting shredded dude.
Defense stinks, but Blake has to not have games like that anymore. He looked like a rookie. I love Blake, I think he's the future, but we need to be past games like that.

Quote:Belichick has won four, made six appearances in the super bowl. Honestly aside from Brady and Gronk, they're actually lacking talent. I don't know how you could say Coughlin has done more with less talent, when its clear he hasn't had the same amount of success. Don't forget, Eli was on another level back in his prime.
they have a good bit of talent on that defense as well

Belichick is the best coach of all time (including Lombardi, et al) ... comparing to him is always going to be an exercise in frustration.

But he has terrific Tom.

I'm not sure  you could place two more contradictory sentences next to each other if you tried.

Quote:He's thrown 30 or more td passes 3 times in his career. He's thrown 14 or more interceptions 10 times in his career. He's never had a passers-by rating over 93 in his career. I live in NY, I watch him play. He was never an elite QB.

Yet he has two rings.

Sorry.  Eli was never as good as hyped.  He did get lucky in a couple of Super Bowls games.  Aside from that, he's always been a middle of the pack talent.

Won rings, all that matters in the end. Fact. Also, you don't just stumble upon two super bowl victories. Get real lol.

Truth. ^

Eli has played at a "near elite" level in a significant portion of many, many games throughout his career. He doesn't do it consistently.  And he's not on the top tier as a passer   -  but he's been pretty close to it at times   -  and he's definitely smarter than most mid-tier guys when he steps behind center.

Coughlin has done way more with less talent.
McCourtney, Chung, Butler, Collins, Hightower, Sheard and Ninkovich would start on our defense.

Patriots roster is more talented than ours.

Yeah, starting to not buy the Tom Brady makes Belichick argument.  He went 11-5 with Matt freaking Cassel, and he's won 2 games with Garroppolo and it wouldn't surprise me to see him win tonight with his 3rd stringer.

Eli is damn near the only QB I've seen that can throw 5 int's in a game and still pull off a win..

Peyton Manning last year. Won because of defense while playing terrible all year.

"More talented" after they were coached by Belichick and his staff. Sheard was a Browns castoff, Ninkovich was nothing until became a Pat. Don't you think coaching has a lot to do with whether or not players are considered "more talented?" Cyprien and Gratz would probably be in the Pro Bowl had they been drafted by the Pats.

Still not lucky. Was he the reason they won? No. But he did his job and did it well. That was to not turn it over and hand the ball over and let the defense win it.

Lucky would have been if he closed his eyes and threw it deep.

Sheard was a good player with the Browns.

Coaching does play a huge role in it but its still possible to see the talent.

Let's compare the Pats players to ours. Make your decision based on pure talent.

Here are mine.

Devin McCourtey>Gibson

Patrick Chung>Cyprien

Malcolm Butler>House

Jamie Collins>Telvin/Poz/Skuta

Donta Hightower>Telvin/Poz/Skuta

Jabal Sheard>Odrick

Thank you.  I truly don't believe Osweiler wins that game.  He'd have been flustered, whereas Peyton was cool as a cucumber and did what he needed to let his defense win.

What's really telling her is how Belli has developed all those guys. Butler was a rookie FA I believe. No idea who Jamie Collins was. Sheard was average in Cleveland.

He takes players and actually develops them. Shocking I know.
