Fire Gus Bradley (MERGED)

(This post was last modified: 09-27-2016, 07:18 AM by ukjag34.)

Based on the last 3 weeks he has to go but if he somehow turns the team around and we end up with a winning record. Extremely unlikely but not impossible I think alot of people will be dissapointed.

The charger game was the black stain for me. Guy has to go

If what Boselli says that's it's the players....they'll show they want to keep him by "turning it around".

It's apparent gus nor his staff has a clue how.

The next week will be interesting.

I hate to deepen your despair, but 0-3 is not slightly better than mediocre.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

There is not a voting option listed (either 'yes or no') that represents my point of view; I would answer: 'it depends'. We've played 3 whole games so far this season, which leaves us 13 games to go. I've stated before that I consider reaching at least an 8-8 record this season to be the 'bench mark'; anything less than 8-8 and Gus should be given his walking papers without hesitation.

Gus has had a very poor record to date as a HC; he is statistically one of (if not the) 'losingest' HC's in the history of the NFL. However, given the rebuild the team went through he has had a pretty good excuse for the team not doing very well his first several years here; that however, is no longer the situation as the team now has sufficient talent on the field (at least on paper) to be competitive. To start the season 0-3 before going to London is grim; but to do so having lost badly to San Diego who (at least on paper) has inferior overall talent compared to the Jags... and then lose to the ravens in a game in which during the second half the ravens did everything possible to allow the Jags to win and yet we still lost...well, it does not bode well for Gus Bradley as remaining the HC here.

Nevertheless, it is still possible that things could get turned around and the team get on the right track and start winning some games. It is still possible for the team to have at least an 8-8 season record. Possible, but unless this team gets out of it's losing habits immediately an 8-8 record is looking more and more improbable. Our franchise quarterback hasn't helped Gus Bradley at all so far this season; he isn't looking so much like a maturing veteran quarterback as he looks like he has actually regressed in his passing technique and he looks unsettled behind center. He is making the kind of mental mistakes that one generally associates with a rookie quarterback instead of one who's been playing the pro game into his third year now.

So our head coach isn't looking good and our franchise quarterback isn't looking good... who's fault is that? Our GM, Dave Caldwell bares some responsibility for our current situation as much as the HC and QB. Dave hired Gus and drafted Bortles. So if Gus goes away, Dave Caldwell needs to be on the hot seat too.

hahaha

Although you have some points and it seems like you really took your time..... This is how losers talk.

It has not been 3 games and it is asinine to look at it that way. It's been over 50. You are putting winning at the bottom of the priority list. There is no downside whatsoever to firing Gus. None. Whats the worst that could happen? We continue to lose games? Oh no... thats exactly what is happening. Marrone or someone takes over as head coach, they fire Wash, start running a basic 4-3 defense and start playing to Blakes strengths. Enough of the screen crap.

Here is my problem with preseason "bench marks". Last season, I still believed in such a thing. I thought maybe 5-11 or 6-10 was the realistic expectation. Going into the season it was realistic. Problem is things change so FAST in the NFL. The way that the 2015 season played out, was unbelievably in favor for the Jags, and Gus could not get it done. Last season should have ended at least 8-8.

Don't leave Gus in London.  Let's at least bring him half way back.

You do know Bradley isn't getting fired right? This is all for giggles. Khan has his man & he's going to make it work, or try to anyway.

So if the Jaguars finish at 6-10 with the Jaguars winning their last for games to make that record does Gus get four more years?

Yeah, but four games in a row, he should get a few more years just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, right?

We said that a week ago. And the week prior as well. They can't turn it around. They're losers and will continue to be with bobble head as coach.

6 years obviously. One for every win

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Guaranteed? Nah.

If he wins... they'll continue to let him limp through the season.

If we lose... I'd say it's still probably only 75/25 chance.

Staring at 0-4, swapping out a HC for someone on his staff isn't taking us to 10-6 or better.

It is probable Khan and Caldwell take the wait and see approach.

I'll say this though, I don't think anything beyond a ten win turnaround will save Gus at seasons end.

Sad too... I was rooting for him more than most.

And he gets added to my list of Garrard, Gabbert, Gene and Gus....

guys I've defended far too long beyond when everyone else had given up.

Something eery about those 'g' names all of a sudden.

Here's another scenario. Let's say Bortles is actually injured right now and that's why he looks so bad and goes to IR over the bye.

Does Gus get another extension?
