I expect another top 10 pick.

Quote:If the Joke truly is out, I'm guessing you'll see Reed named the starting LG with Omameh remaining their top backup.

Reed was out because Omameh can also play RT, but that doesn't necessarily mean they like Omameh over Reed at LG.

Omameh was so much better on Sunday than Reed was week 3 though. Of course playing between Linder and and Beachum rather than Shatley and Joekel probably had something to do with it. As far as Joekel goes, he probably has a career as a guard ahead a him somewhere in the league, as long as he can get back healthy.

Joeckel wasn't playing bad at guard.

So none of us would bring back Joeckel on a cheap deal?

Tell that to the Patriots when Bledsoe got hurt.

Quote:I don't understand. Reed has been noticeably subpar. Omameh run blocked his tail off yesterday. The line looked cohesive and imposed their will for the first time this season, though it was vs. twinkies. Readjusting it again by inserting Reed instead of building on yesterday with a solid fixture in all 5 spots seems backward, to me.

I see what you're saying, but I also wonder if the Colts DL was so subpar compared to the others we've faced that our impression isn't really accurate.

It is definitely worse than the Packers and Ravens defensive lines. In San Diego we just played bad at every position, so I don't know what to think of their DL.

Colts are not a well built team at all. I hope they never get rid of Grigson.

If that made any sense, Caldwell would have given him the fifth year option. The fact he did not can only mean one thing: we want to move on from Joeckel.

Was anyone not surprised Grigson got a new contract in January?

He wasn't playing well either.

That's the story of Joeckel's tenure.  He plays kinda average for most of the season and has two or three bad games.

The Joke was not worth the salary guarantee required by exercising the 5th year option which is why it wasn't offered.  He's a decent depth player but will never live up to his draft status.  Guys like him aren't re-signed by their original drafting team as a general rule, the GM admits the bust and moves on.
