Secondary Improvements
|
A quarter through the season and we currently rank 5th in passing yards allowed per game after playing Rodgers, Rivers, Flacco & Luck.
Is this mainly do to the newly added talent on the back end (Ramsey, Gipson, Prince), Bradleys scheme in general, or the pass rush improvements? Except for the bomb that Luck threw last game, which was a busted coverage/miscommunication, I don't recall many long passes connected this season. (House gave up a bomb week 2). Is the presence of Gipson playing deep preventing some of these throws? Have not had a FS that can roam like he does....maybe ever. Ramsey can run step for step with anybody and is usually bigger/longer than the opposing WR. I'm sure this is having an effect as well. Just wanted to get some of your thoughts as this seems to be new territory for us Jags fans keeping QB's around the 200 yard passing mark. We show less advertisements to registered users. I was tough on them after the Chargers game. Cup especially.
They have played good. Kudos to them.
I am afraid the only Chargers play I will remember when this season ends is the one where two DBs sandwiched a receiver at the 5 without making any attempt to bring him down. It was not a bomb play, but the Chargers got a lot of passing yards on it. I think House was the one who did not tackle the receiver on the spot. Thank God nothing like that happened Sunday.
If you include PI yards in with that where would we be?
Anyway it is good to see a little improvement in the secondary. Still need a ballhawk but maybe it is Bradleys zone that is causing the corners/ safeties to not get any ints.

Quote:It is improved but we are still allowing 27ppg. That is a lot.True, But how many are due to Blake having 7 turnovers?
Quote:True, Blake has only 6 turnovers. The fumble was on Yeldon.
Quote:True, http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/...tics/2016/ If this is accurate and includes week 4, then 17 points total equaling 4.25ppg.

Quote:A quarter through the season and we currently rank 5th in passing yards allowed per game after playing Rodgers, Rivers, Flacco & Luck. lol ..... getting down 35-0 tend to help reduce passing yards against in the 4th quarter.
Quote:http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/...tics/2016/If true, this is a nice find! So essentially we would be 22.75 points against. That would put us at 18th in ppg. In case we have not noticed, we are also 6th in yards per game allowed.
We're 1-3...it's really the only stat that matters.
Have you seen my baseball?
Quote:lol ..... getting down 35-0 tend to help reduce passing yards against in the 4th quarter.Obviously. But he still managed to have more yards than Rodgers AND Flacco against us. So there's that. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Blake has 7 turnovers. 6 picks and a fumble lost Someone posted in a different thread we have 7 total giveaways this season. Are you saying that poster is wrong?
Quote:Someone posted in a different thread we have 7 total giveaways this season. Are you saying that poster is wrong? No. He's not saying that at all. Per this: http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/i...ke-bortles Blake has 6 INTs and 1 fumble. Hence 7 turnovers...ergo, Blake (and therefore the team) has 7 total turnovers.

Quote:No. He's not saying that at all. Yeldon lost a fumble against the Packers.
Quote:Yeldon lost a fumble against the Packers. You are frustrating to listen to. You are the most uninformed person on this board. http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/i.../tj-yeldon That is a link to Yeldon's stats. He HAS NOT lost a fumble this year. Hence no turnover for Yeldon. You suck! EDIT: I might get a warning for this. But someone needs to warn her to NOT be stupid! BTW thanks for hijacking this thread with your ignorance. |
