Florida

Quote:I have no idea what was proposed. I'm sure LSU would be fine with playing in Baton Rouge, lol. Florida couldn't figure something out?It has more to do with the unknowing of the aftermath. You want kids displaced from families if the Hurricane causes some serious turmoil? There was some talk about Florida buying out LSU's weekend with Presbyterian. LSU wanted to move it, but moving it last minute isn't really an option, especially with the uncertainty of a hurricane. I've already seen the idiots from Louisiana talking about how Florida and the SEC didn't want the game to be played... blah blah blah. There is no conspiracy here. Real life takes precedent over football. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:It has more to do with the unknowing of the aftermath. What does that second sentence even mean? We've been looking at this hurricane for over a week now, not really a last minute thing. You seem very defensive about this. Why? Also, those idiots are mad because Florida has basically ruined what little chance LSU had at a sec title game appearance. Irrational fans are going to fan.

Anyone (whether either side of the fence) that was hoping on an LSU sided SEC game, yeah your hope ran out before this weekend, sorry to tell ya!
Really hoping FSU can knock off Clemson in a few weeks.
edit: oops wrong thread Quote:What does that second sentence even mean? We've been looking at this hurricane for over a week now, not really a last minute thing. You seem very defensive about this. Why? Also, those idiots are mad because Florida has basically ruined what little chance LSU had at a sec title game appearance. Irrational fans are going to fan.LSU had a chance at a title game appearance.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA A&M has a chance. Bama is almost a lock... LSU out of the West has no chance. Even if they did come to the swamp and beat Florida. I think they get this figured out and they play... The reason I was so hot about it was because as a Hurricane bore down on Southeast Florida some twit out of New Orleans wrote a whole article about how Florida used a national disaster as an excuse to not play a football game... What does my second sentence mean? It means if Florida kids traveled to LSU to play the game (which would have been last minute, since you don't really ever know what a Hurricane will do) and a lot of damage had been caused maybe they'd be stuck in Baton Rouge? Or vice versa.... maybe a bunch of Lousiana kids get stuck in south Florida because a hurricane causes too much damage? A lot of variables with a storm like this and it seemed people far away (but not too far removed from serious storms themselves) cared more about selfish reasonings to play a meaningless college football game than people's lives and the aftermath of a storm. Now.. hindsight... yeah.. didn't come inland enough to really mess stuff up all that bad. But it could have... and the cons couldn't possibly outweigh the pros. And to make it sound like collusion from the SEC commish and FL to hurt LSU's "chances" at a title game... and "give Florida a leg up on TN" are ridiculous at best. I've lived through some serious hurricanes... they are not to be taken lightly. Football is just a game. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:LSU had a chance at a title game appearance.... Everyone has figured out just stop Fournette and you win the game. It's literally a dunce cap on anyone that tries and plays otherwise. I think even UF could beat the brakes off LSU right now (UF fan since Wuerffel's 1st year).
LSU reminds me of FSU during the Jeff Bowden era. There was no development of QBs during that era. So much talent, so little results.

Quote:So FL is scared of LSU? No reason to be since they already lost. Who knows why the [BLEEP] decision to cancel it was made. Maybe they don't travel until a certain time and they wanted to make sure they caught them before they travel, maybe the grass was a MM too high, maybe a leprechaun caught it's treasure who freaking knows. Complete garbage as to why the game wasn't played,
Florida isn't scared, they don't want to lose a home game. It's all about losing the revenue of a home game....it's always about cash.
Quote:Florida isn't scared, they don't want to lose a home game. It's all about losing the revenue of a home game....it's always about cash. Careful now. You're speaking ill of the blessed facade of College Football where every member of the organization is there for the love of the game unlike those criminal thugs in the Professional leagues.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
So let me get this straight. An SEC rival is scared to play against a lackluster LSU squad that already fired their coach? Let's use logic for this one, people...
Hurricane Matthew stayed at a Cat 4 for awhile, and could've been disastrous if it was 45 miles closer inland. Flooding, winds up to 140mph, almost a million people without power, 12 officially announced dead, and we're saying the Gators were scared of LSU??? Wow. An SEC rival is scared to play against a lackluster LSU squad that already fired their coach? Let's use logic for this one, people... Was the FSU/Miami game played? Or did they die in the 140 mph winds? Quote:Was the FSU/Miami game played? Or did they die in the 140 mph winds? Miami was not going to get hit hard, that was said days before the game. Quote:Miami was not going to get hit hard, that was said days before the game. Yet FSU traveled through to Miami to still play that game but the Gators wouldn't board a plane to play the game elsewhere citing weather concerns. USF ain't far from Gainsville. They still played. Georgia played. SC played. I'm just saying it looks like what it looks like to most people. For the record I don't give a crap about college football. I'm just saying.
Did you miss my whole post about lost revenue? Are you really that thick? Again, this is all about revenue. South Carolina moved their game during a hurricane to play LSU, I should say was forced by the SEC, and USC is still made at the SEC for moving it to this day. That is millions of dollars in lost revenue for a school Jeremy Foley has more than enough clout not to let that happen.
If FSU and Miami had a cat 4 hurricane baring down on them they would have cancelled their game as well. Don't act like your school is high and mighty. They are all exactly the same. You sound like you want to play the my school is better than your school card, you sound dumb. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I would be surprised if this game is even played. I'm sure the insurance payout for the game is substantial.
