Is there really no FSU v. Miami thread?!

I agree with you, but some of the hits he took deserved to be flagged.

Solid deflection.

You want me to restate everything I've said up to this point?  You're wrong.  It's a rivalry game and the referee didn't see it the way you did.  A die hard homer fan thinks his quarterback took a late cheap shot from a rival.  Shocking.

Anyone with a brain (apparently you lack one) and two eyes (again, you must lack those too) that actually saw the play I'm referring to would agree. I guess Kirk Herbstreit is wrong because he thought it should have drawn a flag too.

You sound like JW now.  Kirk Herbstreit said it, so it must be true!

The point that proves my argument here is that you give your boy a pass on the head to head contact with the Miami qb.  You are willing to give your guy a pass on that, but not the Miami players on your guy.   With that said, this discussion ends here.

The high/low hit was absolutely dirty. I don't understand how anybody could watch that and think otherwise. Seems like he is just trolling you. I thought the referees did a good job on letting them play. Those hits reminded me of how this rivalry used to be played.

I am shocked!  FSU fan backing up FSU fan.  Par for the course here.

Edit:  Let me guess, you also think your guy that got kicked out had a clean hit?

No, it was clearly targeting. Why are you so butthurt about this?

Wait, so you think every helmet to helmet hit is dirty?

And for the record, I don't think it was a dirty hit by Matthew Thomas. He should have been ejected because that's the rule, but the hit hardly looked malicious. But you'll just say I'm a homer, so whatever.

Who is trolling who?

Literally the only part of Brad Thomas that hit Brad Kaaya's body was his helmet hitting Kaaya's helmet.

You guys are so blinded by being FSU fans it's disgusting.  Google the hit and post it (I can't post links here) and show me I'm wrong.

Lol it's cute that your sticking up for your boy and calling me "butt hurt" like he hasn't been having a back and forth as well.  How can you call someone "butt hurt" and feel the need to have to come to their aid?

I apologize, the FSU player was Matthew Thomas, and it was clearly a head to head shot. In fact no other part of his body touched any other part of the quarterbacks body.  Nothing dirty about that, right?

Not sticking up for anyone or coming to their aid. You are acting like bigjohns opinion personally offends you. It looks like butthurt to me. Also, I agree with you, it was a head shot and it was dirty. What do you think about the high/low hit on francois?

Quote:I'm trying to figure out where its illegal for a qb to get hit high and low. Two guys meet at a qb at the same time and one guy is high and one is low, it happens.

Lets say Ngakoue and Fowler reach Andrew Luck at the same time and absolute crush him. Were they supposed to let up because they both got there?

Another situation, lets say Malik Jackson gets to Ben Roethlisberger and is able to grab him and hold onto his ankle, but Ben wont go down. Ngakoue comes in and cleans him up. According to you that's now a cheap shot....or is that only to the FSU quarterbacks?

I have an axe to grind, but your player throwing head shots isn't cheap, but everything Miami did was...ok, I have an axe to grind.
first paragraph is trolling when when used in reference to the hit Frenchy took. Sandwiched WAY after the ball was thrown is reason enough for the flag. Anyone who tries to say the hit on Kaaya was legit or wasn't malicious is equally as ignorant or trolling.

I think it happens.  I think its two guys getting to the quarterback at the same time and it was on the edge of being late.  I don't think it was two guys saying hey, lets go take this guy out

I take issue with the fact that Big John calls Miami's hit dirty, but doesn't say that his teams hit is dirty.  If you can't admit that your own team has a dirty hit, you have no room to judge others.

The hit came well after the ball was released from French's hand there is no debating that. Now onto the your BigJohn issue well he has no leg to stand on if he thinks the hit to Kaaya which dislodged his molar was anything but dirty and warranted an ejection. As a huge long time FSU fan after seeing that hit I was yelling at my TV for him to be ejection.

I rewatched the hit your talking about where he rolled out and threw it long to Dalvin Cook.  It's a Youtube video...it's close, it was not well after it was released, but I think you would have a hard time finding a ref that would throw a flag on that during the pace of a game.  It's a pretty bang bang play.  It's definitely a judgment call and can go either way.  An FSU fan will say its a late hit and a Miami fan will say its late.
