Andre Branch

Have to give credit where credit it due. I thought that the kid from Stanford outplayed Branch during the preseason games. He had more production in less plays. During the preseason games Branch's effort was decent, but he always seemed to be a couple of steps away from making the play. Branch has kept with it and his improvement has been a pleasure to observe. He seems to be playing with more energy and better technique. The credit for the improvement goes to both the player and the coaching staff. Ryan Davis is also developing into a solid young rotational player.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
Nice quote from D-line coach on the homepage today:

He obviously has some talent and I am glad the coaches are getting something out of him.

Quote:Nice quote from D-line coach on the homepage today: I love that quote, pass rushing (as odd as this may sound) is similar to pitching, you need a plethora of different effective moves (pitches) to keep guys off balance. Another sack today. He is most dangerous when he stunts and rushes from different locations multiple times. Good to see.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Credit to the coaching staff on realizing that Branch is not currently and possibly never may be a hand in the dirt traditional rush DE but are still maximizing his skill set. His athleticism allows him to be moved around and it is working out well. Its really good to see.

There's one absolute thing about Andre Branch, and that's that when he locks onto the QB and you don't block him he's going to get a sack.
He's a non-stop force. Even if he'll never be a four down guy, he's a perfect fit at the LEO spot.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I would hope he gets the sack. In all seriousness, it's great they've found what he does well. Hopefully he develops more.

I like that Andre Branch doesn't do that for the most part. That's what I meant

Touché, you're right. He does close on the quarterback pretty well. I loved him coming out of that draft so I will be as happy as anyone if he can keep improving.
Quote:You would hope, but how many times have we watched a LB not named Daryl Smith knife back there, only to have the QB step into the pocket and have them completely whiff, sliding in the backfield? Prosinski did this yesterday. Was unblocked, but took a really bad angle coming in and went right by the QB.
They are moving him all around and finding spots for him to attack.
I agree with Jagwired in that he actually locks onto the QB and tracks him down properly when unblocked instead of whiffing constantly as we have seen from our Jags lineman in the past. Its not something every D-lineman can do with consistency and as Prosinski showed its even tough for quick secondary players to rock the QB in the backfield cleanly. Quote:They are moving him all around and finding spots for him to attack.at the speed the prosinksi was running down there completely unblocked and untouched I think any of us could have got away from that tackle by doing exactly what manuel did, just taking a step forward, lol He was going so quick there was no way he could have made the adjustment that quick and the angle he had to take removed any chance of him getting the adjustment, That's what I've liked about cyp when he comes in on the blitz, If you look closely, he kinda slows down right before he gets there so he can make last second adjustments, It's not much, but it's enough that he doesn't completely miss. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. ^^^ the only time anyone has ever claimed Prisons of moving too fast haha..oh my. Remember when Propain was suppose to be one of the biggest steals of his draft?
"Expect for the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes."
Since the break, he has 4 sacks in the last five games. What's changed? His technique, maybe?
I still think drafting a pass rusher should be a top priority. But could it be that Branch is finally turning into the kind of player we thought he could be when we drafted him?
