Jalen Ramsey Dialogue

LOL.  How many tackles did he miss yesterday?

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Not saying he is one of the top corners, but missing tackles literally has nothing to do with it.

You know, he's still a rookie, right?  There's always going to be a learning curve.  Considering how he got worked in the first half of the game yesterday, he closed out strong and showed that he was capable of making the necessary adjustments on the fly during the game.

This guy has the potential to be something truly special.  He's going to make his mistakes, but if he learns from them as quickly as he did yesterday, he'll be a top corner in the league this year.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He showed poise, resilience, maturity, leadership and finished strong.  The Jags could use a lot more of that.

It was a bonus when Deion Sanders made a tackle.  There is plenty of room for criticism on the Jags.  The way Ramsey finished yesterday is not not one of them.

Love the pride he takes in his craft and the hunger to be challenged by measuring himself against top competition.

He's gonna have some rough days but kid is eager to be elite. Clearly has high expectations of himself.

I dig it.

He has Donovin Darius swagger in the secondary. I don't know if CB is his permanent NFL position or if we ever convert him to safety but either way he's a talented player with a lot of energy and passion. The kind of thing that can rub off on other players.

No pain, no gain.

He's been shutting people down as a CB except for Jeffery in one half... why in the world is a move to safety even still in people's minds?

I think he's really good.  He has rookie moments, but he will be the best corner we've ever had.  Mathis still holds that title, but Ramsey will take it.  The guy just knows how to ball.  He got burned on one play, and another play he slipped.  He won us the game yesterday.

You don't know if CB is his permanent NFL position?? Have you not watched any of these first 5 games??

I was one of the biggest supporters of him playing Safety in the NFL (as I thought that was his best position and he'd struggle outside at CB).

It took only 2-3 games for me to realize I was very wrong and the kid can flat out play as a CB in the NFL, regardless of where he's lined up.

I don't doubt he'd excel at Safety as well, but after only 5 games into his career, it's very clear he's a force at CB. Whether it's outside, or inside. He's very quickly making his mark as a true shut down corner in the NFL.

The way he responded in the second half would be known as "second half adjustments" it's just something we're not used to seeing. And btw, Jalen is a baller.

The funny thing is, according to him, he made his own adjustments.   He decided what to do on his own.   Which makes me wonder about his position coach.

I mean, seriously, think about this.   Here is one of our players, a rookie, who has to come up with his own halftime adjustment.

I guess you missed the article on ESPN where he said he talked to Prince and Walker and changed how he lined up on Jeffery in the second half. Now this won't add credibility to the secondary coach, but the potential absence of this info made you "wonder" about him. Well done.

Two that I recall, one of which was on an RB with momentum.

And you know what... he's still one of the best tackling CBs in the league.

His first half wasn't great.  Hell, it was straight up bad.

He admitted as much, and made the adjustments in the 2nd Half to completely shut down Jeffery and make the game winning play.

What more do you want from him?

Remember, there are eight gaps to every offensive front. When you only employ seven Front Line defenders, that means that one of those gaps is unaccounted for and needs to be defender by the Secondary. Damn right a CB better make a tackle.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

The DB coach is trash and should've been fired years ago.

I guess lol.

I mean... I'm pretty down on the team, personally right now... but even I can look at Ramsey and see that he's going to be an absolute star.

The amount of character and willpower it takes to have as bad of a first half as he did against a legitimate #1 WR in Jeffery... and come back in the 2nd Half and absolutely shut him down... speaks volumes to his maturity and ability.

We've needed a home run hit in the 1st round like him for a long time.
