Ngakoue. Sack #4.
|
I don't think Fowler is a bad player, he's just playing out of position. I said it when he was drafted, that kid is not a DE. He's a LB. If it were me, I'd have Smith, Jack and Fowler at the linebacker positions. I think he'd be much better at as a 4-3 OLB.

DE Yannick Ngakoue (@yan_d1prospect) is the first player in team history to register 4.0+ sacks through five career games.
Quote:Pretty good. Sure would be nice spending our free agent money on something other than a pass rusher.

I agree, I think he's better suited for the "Bruce Irvin" otto-role in Seattle.
One reason he was so good at Florida is they moved him around. The play in London where he forced the INT, he was blitzing up the middle. He really is not a great edge rusher. And I don't know that he ever will be.

And I don't know that he ever will be. I agree, he just doesn't have the bend to consistently win around the edge, so tackles can cheat on him so to speak knowing he can only beat them with inside moves. You really need a creative D-coordinator to maximize Fowler's gifts, his gift is athletic-versatility. He's a guy that needs to stand-up, drop in coverage, rush inside, rush outside etc..., he's a guy that offenses need to be able to "identify' on every snap, because he has the athleticism and violence to wreak havoc if used correctly.

By far his biggest impact has come on the stunts, and they only did it once last week (and he got a pressure). You obviously can't stunt him every play, but they should definitely be doing it more as well as having him just straight up A gap blitz and junk.
Riddle me this. Why are those who try so hard to discredit Jag players for their sacks so quick to praise the other team for the sacks that they get?
Agenda much?

You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.
Quote:72 practically pulls his jersey off. Of course...no call. Side note, it's a little surprising that they still issue that number.
