Jags secondary zooming up PFFs ranks

#21

House has definitely struggled this season so far. But I'd rather have him as our #4 than Gratz for sure

Quote:Yeah House has really fallen. Just thought it was interesting that Wash made the distinction, seems like a straight shooter.

The Prince situation is a tough one. He is constantly injured so I'm not sure what contract you can give him. Unless its one of the Caldwell specials, big money in year 1/2 then no loss when you cut.

An incentive laden one based on playing time.

Would be a smart move. Just have to see if he'd take that over a contract with a big guaranteed number from another team. Likely his last big contract too.

If he gets hurt again he might not get a guaranteed contract anywhere. If he doesn't hete hurt again we might even offer him a decent one.

If this team starts winning more, a lot of guys will be more willing to come back

Quote:Wash would be right. House has really fallen this year. I don't know his contract specifics but he may need to get cut to make more room for Princes contract and FA Oline help.

House is not getting cut. Now I agree that the "we have three good corners" was a bit of a slam on House, but when he was saying "good corner" he was referencing Sherm as a comparison. There are many in the NFL like me who consider Sherm to be the best CB in the league.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars (22)

Current nickel package: CB Prince Amukamara, CB Aaron Colvin, SCB Jalen Ramsey, S John Cyprien, S Tashaun Gipson

Jalen Ramsey hasn’t played as well the past two games as he started off the season, but he’s clearly going to be a valuable impact-player for Jacksonville’s defense. Prince Amukamara has been great in coverage when on the field, allowing a 35 percent catch rate into his coverage—a league-low among cornerbacks. For the most part, the entire secondary has played well outside of Davon House, who owns the third-lowest overall grade among cornerbacks this year. The Jaguars wisely made the move to bench him for Aaron Colvin this past week, though, and it worked out well.

Prince has not been benched yet.

Nobody suggested he was, but he needs to stay healthy if he's to expect a new contract. So far Prince has missed two of the Jaguars five games.

Prince seems to be really happy here so perhaps he will still pick us even if we arn't the best contract out there.

Probably took his humour and good nature the wrong way, Prince doesn't seem like a guy who relishes arguments.

There was a rumor going around that he was gay. Kind of like when Zack Greinke was with the Royals. Guys would jab at him in the clubhouse and it effected his game.

He's from West African royalty with wealthy parents and a rich heritage. Of course it's mystifying to the average American footballer.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Go all out Mighty Jaguars.

You missed my point. Would you rather cut a player who missed games for medical reasons or a player who missed games for performance reasons?

The Jags cut Gratz and kept Johnson.

And Gratz was inactive in favor of Johnson.
