Well I don't think Caldwell is getting fired and Harbaugh will not take a job without full control

Quote:Harbaugh isn't leaving Ann Arbor to come coach blake bortles in Jacksonville lol

If Shad offered him $10M/year and full control of this roster, why wouldn't Harbaugh consider it? San Diego St and Stanford weren't exactly sexy situations prior to Harbaugh's arrival, and who says Blake has to be his QB?

#84

Harbaugh is so unrealistic that i will raise your unrealistic scenario with this scenario:

Head Coach:  Richard Vermeil

Offensive Coordinator:  Jon Gruden

Defensive Coordinator:  Bill Cowher

QB Coach:  Peyton Manning

WR Coach: Michael Irvin

TE Coach:  Tony Gonzalez

LB Coach:  Derrick Brooks

DL coach:  Michael Strahan

DB Coach: Deion Sanders

Special Teams:  Vince Papale

He has a good chance of winning one this year

Thanks, that was a really good laugh.

In all honesty, I think we could have this proposed staff and still somehow look like the joke of the league here.

maybe, but if he does or doesnt theres nothing to say hell leave after. For all we know he could just dominate cfb for as long as possible and never come back to the nfl. Either way right now hes a non factor so we should probably stop bringing him up.

I don't see how it's that unrealistic, first and foremost money talks, you don't think he'd be willing to listen to a $10M offer? Along with full control?

Yeah, I'm betting the shortlist will be Schwartz, Haley, McDaniels, and Patricia.

Yea he could, but he also could want to get back into the NFL, it's a hypothetical situation on both sides.

Harbaugh coached at University of San Diego not San Diego St. USD is a small catholic school that plays division II football

Ok my bad, the point still remains, the University of San Diego was completely irrelevant prior to his arrival.

No. I don't.

I also don't think he would come to Jacksonville if given the chance. Why would he come to a failing franchise? He took the 49ers job because of their tremendous history. The Jags suck and have sucked for a long time now.

He's not leaving Michigan so you're idea is in fact dumb.

The problem will almost certainly be which other teams will also be looking for a new coach. If the Bengals miss the playoffs, is Lewis out? Bengals job opens up but then Lewis is available. Payton and the Saints? Pagano will most certainly be gone after this year.

You are right and in fact Stanford was irrelevant before he got there.  Schools like Washington State and Colorado were considered better jobs

So "idea" of at least pursuing a guy like Harbaugh is "dumb", ok. The truth is none know if he'd be willing to come to Jacksonville, we're all speculating, the fact that you're so adamant that he wouldn't be willing to come here is flat out ignorant, you have no idea what'd he be willing to do.

Steve Spurrier, he's lives in this area right?  He'd want to bring respect here.  Sign him Caldwell.

#99

I could only dream of getting Harbaugh. We need a proven coach. 'No more up and coming coordinators who are a wild card.

And no to Haley for imploding at KC. And are people around here really asking for Schwartz, after lamenting the amount of penalties and lack of discipline of this team? Because that's his specialty as evidenced by his years in Detroit.
