Coaching Candidates

Quote:No. I don't.

I also don't think he would come to Jacksonville if given the chance. Why would he come to a failing franchise? He took the 49ers job because of their tremendous history. The Jags suck and have sucked for a long time now.

He's not leaving Michigan so you're idea is in fact dumb.

Who cares if the Jaguars have "sucked" for a long time, I doubt that goes into the thought process. This isn't about the "past",  the decision for a coach/GM to take/not take job likely center around these questions. How much is the organization offering? Will I have full control? What is the cap space situation? How much talent is on the roster? What does our draft position look like? Can I get along with the owner? Is the owner willing to spend? Does the owner meddle? The Jaguars situation checks all of these boxes, the situation in Jacksonville is a lot more attractive than people like you think

Quote:So "idea" of at least pursuing a guy like Harbaugh is "dumb", ok. The truth is none know if he'd be willing to come to Jacksonville, we're all speculating, the fact that you're so adamant that he wouldn't be willing to come here is flat out ignorant, you have no idea what'd he be willing to do.
Let's pursue Belicheck then.

Quote:I could only dream of getting Harbaugh. We need a proven coach. 'No more up and coming coordinators who are a wild card.

And no to Haley for imploding at KC. And are people around here really asking for Schwartz, after lamenting the amount of penalties and lack of discipline of this team? Because that's his specialty as evidenced by his years in Detroit.

What proven coach is going to be out there though?

Harbaugh won't come here. Old man Coughlin? Maybe Marvin Lewis?

Everytime we have a coaching vacancy we get excited with big names and end up interviewing coordinators. I doubt this go around will be any different.

Kerwin Bell, he'd want north florida to be great.

Are you just naturally an idiot, or does it take practice?  Just curious.

Caldwell would never hire Harbaugh -- he wants too much power (like GM/Coach role).

Belichick imploded at Cleveland.  JDR imploded here.  Heck, TC imploded here prior to going to the Giants.

He's a subtle troll, kinda like tryin to stay under the radar but still trollin..

Here we go again, how do you know "Harbaugh won't come here", it's such an ignorant statement, because none of us know. What I do know is this team has a ton of cap space, a likely high draft pick, a ton of young talent on both sides of the ball, and a patient owner that's willing to spend money. What other situation in the NFL rivals the one in Jacksonville?

He has a great situation where he is at right now. If he did decide to get back into the NFL then I imagine a reunion with Luck would be his most likely destination.

Eww none of those guys

Tom Coughlin - give him a 3 year deal let him build the team back up, we have talent so it shouldnt take too long

Have his successor on the staff for when he retires

The guy who went 3-20 with Tennessee?

;

Quote:Freeze sucks.

My list of candidates:

1. Haley. Obviously does well with QBs and this would be a second stint.

2. Schwartz. He actually runs the defense where he goes unlike Gus who just did what Carroll did.

3. McDaniels. Learning from the best of the best.

No thanks to Haley dont want a coach who dont get along with a lot of players, he is good only working with QBs

Schwartz is ok but I dont want another defensive minded coach, the NFL is an offensive league now

McDaniels is an ego maniac, so no thank you

This team is so screwed because of coaching that you could fire Gus, let the players coach themselves, and they could still do better.

Oh yea Sean Payton has been on my wish list for years

Harbaugh would be a dream come true, and would have us in the playoffs next year, winning this sorry division for sure

Most successful head coaches are ego maniacs

And most coaches dont ruin franchises by getting rid of all the good players, only two I can think of is Josh McD and Chip Kelly

Sean Payton

Greg Roman - Come on the dude had Kap looking great and look what he did for Tyrod Taylor, plus him and the GM are good buddies
