AP: Jaguars owner Khan speaks to team, seeks answers

Quote:an extension doesn't mean jack [BAD WORD REMOVED]...History shows that an interim coach makes little to no impact after firing a coach during the season...Of course there are exceptions, but there are far more instances where little to no impact is made, which is why Khan says it makes no sense to fire a coach in season...

Khan knows what the problem is...I think he's just trying to find out where the players are at...We have players calling out fans, player who says fans just care about winning and not the players, players losing their tempers and getting ejected, players questioning the coaching, so Khan wants to see if Gus has lost the locker room, or if he still has the players trust, or if the players are starting to call each other out such as the defense saying we play our butts off only to watch the offense screw everything up...Khan wants to see where players put the blame and what the moral of the locker room is

There is one problem with your post: coaches were in the same meeting. As stated many times already, players will not throw coaches under the bus in front of their bosses.

Quote:Our big uglies aren't particularly big or nasty so blame the lack of talent on the line on Caldwell.

Can't make chicken salad out of chicken [BAD WORD REMOVED]. I don't see how that's reflective on Marrone; he's somewhat handcuffed with the talent level.

This was our O-Line under Yarno and Butkus:

Luke Joeckel, Brandon Linder, Luke Bowanko, Zane Beadles and Austin Pasztor

Is that group better than this year's line?

If not, then why is the 2014 line outperforming this year's O-Line in terms of run blocking?

You got the guards mixed up. Beadles was on the left and Linder was on the right.

Then Linder got hurt and Cann took over at RG.

We didn't have Cann in 2014.

Let's say it's not Caldwell as I am assuming that is why you posed your question.

So, I'll ask you this: is Marrone coaching them to be soft in the run game? Is that what we're getting at since it's not a personnel but rather a coaching discrepancy?

It's asking power run guys to run finesse zone schemes

Our OL has been bad no matter who the position coach is. We even have been using assistant OL coaches for a few years. If it was just coaching, Marrone would have fixed it along with whoever is helping him on the OL.

Very well.

I wasn't under the impression that the scheme had changed but that does put it into perspective.

Greg Olson wanted to run more and thought we could do it with Chris Ivory as the backup.

The problem is the scheme hasn't changed. Gus (and anyone under him apparently) seem adamant about sticking to their scheme(s)

We have too many stretch and zone run reads out of shotgun and it is the silliest use of beast like Linder and Cann and Parnell.

Line up singleback 2 TE and pound the rock. (since we can't do I formation with no true FB)

And force feed Ivory, bring in Yeldon on 3rd downs only.

They try getting too cute mixing it all up.

I really don't understand what happened between seasons with our offense.

Here is another brilliant idea: Get a real FB so we can start using power I formations.

yeah I'm the one who said that so I figured that most would kind of combine the two posts like where I said Khan probably said something along the lines of "if you think of anything else, or want to remain anonymous  or you don't want to say it out loud, send me a note, email text or something or drop by my office

I love it. Khan is tired of the losing.  And basically saying if you don't like it here.  We can work out a trade or ya can be fired (cut)   So you must produce.  And telling the coaches as well.

So in essence.  Play/Coach better or find a new home.

That's not how it went at all.

Well that is how it should.  In any business if needs don't meet production people are let go.  The NFL is no different.
