Google Pixel
|
I just got the Pixel XL last night. I have to say, so far it's awesome. It's much more streamlined than the Galaxy bloatware I've had. Camera is awesome, the fingerprint sensor on the back is actually a lot more convenient than I though it would be. Also, unlimited lifetime storage for photos and videos (including 4k) is amazing.
The only things I wish it had were a better water resistance. It's only ip53 not ip68 like the S7. And a SD card slot would be nice, but with the unlimited photo/video storage, I doubt I'll run into issues. So far I'm really liking it.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

My main complaint is the misleading advertisements that infer the Google Pixel is only available through Verizon. It can be purchased from the Google Store and is unlocked, meaning it will work with most major carriers.

I really want to get one but I just got a Nexus 5X not to long ago. I think I will wait for next year's. It looks really awesome but I am surprised Google agree to any kind of carrier exclusivity. No word on weather that is short lived or not. I wonder if the commercials saying it's only available with Verizon are actually Verizon ran commercials. Similar to video game ads ran by Sony or Microsoft that say Only on PS4 and what not when really they are cross platform titles.

Just saw that T-Mobile is doing some kind of program involving you buying a Pixel through Google and them subsidizing it. Here's a write up on it:

It's only available to purchase through Verizon as far as carriers go, you can buy it from the Google store, and on installment if necessary. It's an unlocked phone so you can use any carrier's service. I'm betting most will soon have offers essentially buying your installment contract if you switch to them.

I'm enjoying my Pixel XL too, I had the Note 4 previously and was looking for the Note 7 prior to the entire blowing up in your pocket fiasco
I wanted the Note 7 as well....
As for the Pixel, so far it's been great. Much more responsive than the S6 or even my work S7.

Looks like Sprint has something in the works also:
