Fowler

Quote:Bust.

So Fowler can be a bust after 7 games with same [BLEEP] coaching, but Bortles can't be trash after three seasons of poor mechanics? Kid couldn't hit the water if he was throwing it from a pier.

Quote:I want to believe that this guy is the next Dwight Freeney like the media painted him out to be during training camp.... but the guy is looking more and more like a bust. No pass rush moves. Lines up offsides. Commits personal fouls.

Someone tell me I'm wrong, because I really hope I am.

never draft a gators Dlineman... other teams can, we cant

Quote:Ahhhhh you finally admitted it. Of course with better coaching, he's a franchise QB. His talent is undeniable

I hope he succeeds too, but how many other franchise qbs in this league have to try to explain why there throwing motion totally regressed from a year ago? Those little side arm throws he made last night were identical to his rookie year. I mean, cmon man this is middle school stuff. WE should be talking about his progression in reading defenses and about how he cant get his oline into the right protections, but all that is overshadowed by the fact that he can't even throw the ball.

Bortles is the perfect QB and has never made a single mistake. It's the coaches.

Interesting how the thread topic is "Fowler" and yet Bortles gets drug in.

Oh I'll take the blame for that one. No regrets.

Fowler is pissing me off with his undisciplined play, but he's in his first year. Can't call him a bust yet. What Ngakoue has done is rare in a rookie season.

Knock on wood but as many DE's as we've had over the years trying to find a dominant pass rusher, we deserve one or both of them to pan out to be just that.

I agree, but Ngakoue is also not coming off a torn acl.

Fowler's a piece of trash.  He's too worried about getting absolutely murdered during a play that he has to look tough after the play.  Reminds me of his off the field incident.

spacecoastjag would rather hijack a thread to talk about Blake Bortles....He probably really believes Bortles had a good game last night.  Dumbest guy on the message board by far.  He is the worst quarterback in the league right now, but when teams decide to play soft because the game is over, Blake can pick them apart.  So in the first half spacecoastjag can blame it on the receivers, the line, the running game, but in the second its all Blake and those problems go away?  You are clueless.

Quote:He is basically still a rookie with 7 games under his belt. I would never expect any Defensive rookie LB or DL to ever be a difference maker in their first year of play. So far he has shown some skill.
This. A big part of the problem is the media over hyped him and primed the fans with unrealistic expectations. We allowed ourselves to be set up to be disappointed. However, the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties also reflect on the coaching.

Its high time that they sit Fowler out. Make him inactive and play Chris Smith. The mistakes he's been making are just downright stupid.

Why would Gus do that? He didn't do it with Jackson. He didn't do it with Ramsey. He's not going to suddenly grow the balls to do it with Fowler. It's painfully obvious that the inmates have been running the asylum for far too long.

Jackson and Ramsey has only had one issue so far. Jackson played a "clean" game tonight. Ramsey had one (so that's two for him). Fowler has had at least 1 in just about every single game, from offsides, to jumping over a kick (which could have cost us a game), to unsportsmanlike penalties. They talk about how its easier to reel someone in than to pump someone out? Fowler needs to get reeled in, and reeled in quick.

I hate the acceptance and tolerance that fans have with Fowler with regards to this year being his 'first'. Yes it is his first year playing, but he is not a true rookie like that guy that has replaced him in the line-up. What was he doing all year last season, besides rehab? Was he involved AT ALL with the team?? Lines up offsides, doesn't know the rules about leverage, cannot control his frustration, gets out of position.. etc.

Fowler has been in more fights than he's had pressures or sacks.

Quote:Seems like most of the gators we draft never amount to anything.

Fowler has been another disappointment to me, considering all the hype about how good he was at UF.

Are you a Gator hater? Those people are the guys complaining about our history of drafting Gators. Which school a player went to is completely irrelevant once he is drafted.
