Olson Fired
|
Quote:In an odd turn of events, John Oehser seems to agree with the majority of the message board on the Olson firing.I would think this points to O thinking that the players are more to blame. That is not the case with the majority of the MB which of course lays all blame on Gus.

True - but I'm trying to be a bit more specific here concerning the firing of the OC and it's ramifications - while also noting that a vast majority of the board has expressed similar sentiments about the O-Line and QB. I attribute most of the Offensive woes directly to BB5 and O-line play, Olson wasn't helping straying so far from what worked last year as far as play calling. I do not believe any coach will make much difference. the O-line must win man on man battles and BB5 must play at least back to last years level. Which wasn't really all that high.

DC will be next as gus thins out everyone but himself.
Got to give his "friends" a chance to get resumes out before season end. They all know they're done here. ![]()

Quote:Interesting to read what other NFL Execs say about the Jags. Basically they said the Jags sound as if they are great organization that has won SuperBowls and Khan doesn't want to hear any bad news about his players or coaches. Maybe that's why he's reluctant to fire either Gus or Dave as that would be admitting HE is the one that made the mistake hiring them in the first place and wasting 4 years and hundreds of millions of dollars and numerous draft picks on players that aren't cutting it.Where did you read this at "A man with no sauce is lost.

But that same man can get lost in the sauce."

They absolutely think they’re the greatest team. If you talk to Jacksonville and you talked to the Patriots, you would think the Patriots were drafting in the top 10 every year and Jacksonville was winning Super Bowls. It’s just remarkable.
“The owner decided not to make any changes. But he really can’t make any changes because anybody who comes in there is going to say, ‘Blake Bortles is 10-26 in his starts and I think we need a quarterback, Mr. [Shad] Khan.’ I don’t think Mr. Khan wants to hear that.”
lol, this team has no right to act that way, garbage owners and garbage front office
Ridiculous, entitled mentality Quote:What he said is reported by Ryan O'Halloran here: http://jacksonville.com/sports/2016-10-2...mmon-theme Lombardi is no longer an executive, he's a paid talking head and his boss expects him to make inflammatory statements. So - I'd take it with a grain a of salt, but clearly the Jags organization had some level of disconnect with reality concerning the state of their team entering this season. Quote:Lombardi is no longer an executive, he's a paid talking head and his boss expects him to make inflammatory statements.I think the Jags need someone to say "we're crap, but we can be much, much better". Which is why I'm not entirely against a return of Coughlin in some role in the coaching staff. Coughlin once said that the 2002 roster was the worst he ever coached, worse even than the 1995 roster. He said that during training camp of 2002, it feels like realism like that is missing from the organization. Quote:Lombardi is no longer an executive, he's a paid talking head and his boss expects him to make inflammatory statements. /\ this..... There's a difference in optimism and blind faith.

Do they know Gus is (14-41) and Khan is (15-55)?! Lol this organization is awful. I can't wait for Bortles to go to a real franchise so the Jags go back to (3-13)
Quote:No he's not. He might be. But we'll never know. You can't trust these coaches to have recognized the talent and used it properly. Much less developed that talent. Hell, BBB5 may have been a QB head and shoulders above Ben Rapistburger. What's done, is done. And it's done. For alot of this talent. Quote:Bortles (10-26) is GREAT for this bad organization. I wonder how much more money it would have taken to get Andy Reid over here... Whatever the amount... It would have been worth it
Andy Reid wins with Alex Smith. Then Alex Smith goes down, and they smoke the clots with Nick Foles...
We could have overpaid for Andy Reid... But what's done is done. Maybe we can save our talent if we over pay for a real Head Coach. Quote:I can't wait for Bortles to go to a real franchise so the Jags go back to (3-13)I can't wait either!!! Then we won't have to deal with your idiocy on this forum. |
