Approval of Olson Firing?

#81

Quote:Whatever...they're all gone next year anyway.

That should be true so sort interesting they fired him now. Gus is gone at end of year or sooner and new HC will bring his own people. I guess Khan and Caldwell thought this would let the fans know they care somewhat.

Hackett will probably be gone with new HC unless he does something amazing down the stretch. Seeing he worked with Bortles as QB coach....don't see that happening.

I voted Nay because Gus should have been fired.

Gus was the guy who fired Olson. He can't fire himself.

Why don't people understand this?

How hard is it to understand that Gus is responsible for the performance of the whole team.  He's on his 2nd D Coord and 3rd O Coord.  Gus is the problem.

He can't fire himself? Yes, he can. The word is called resign. Why don't you understand this?

And on that note, that's another thing that annoys me about Gus. Anybody with any bit of self-respect would have resigned by now. Not Gus. He's the loser you have to fire. The Jags could keep him for the next twenty years, and he'd likely scratch out he usual three to five wins a year, and he'd have no compunction while cashing those paychecks.

He could be a man and say "Sorry guys, I really tried, but this just isn't for me". But not Gus. He puts himself above everybody.

Impossible because you are wrong. No one person is "the" problem. Everyone is responsible for his mistakes.

Did I read that correctly? I agree no one person is ultimately responsible, but one person IS responsible for the performance of everyone on the team, thus being Head coach.

Everyone is responsible for "his" mistakes? What? Everyone is responsible for their own mistakes, he is responsible for continuing to allow them to happen.

Actually Gus Bradley is not responsible for everybody on the team - that is Shad Khan's job. Bradley controls himself, his assistants, and the players. That's it.

The players are actually the only ones on the team.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

"Team" includes everyone from Shad Khan to Jaxson de Ville.

Now that you mention it, I did notice a very nice hoof ring on the Bronco's mascot last Sunday.

I approve, but doesn't fix the main issue, which is Gus.

Not expecting a lot out of Hackett, seeing as he's the former QB coach of the most regressed player on the roster.

I would expect less of a coach who never had an OC job before. It will not help enough for sure, but Hackett is probably the best we got.

Obviously Gus needs to go as well...

But on it's own merit, Absolutely I approve.  Our Offense was laughably inept, and that will always fall on the OC.  Was he the only problem?  Not by a mile.  Was he part of it.  Without question.

More changes are coming.  If anything, this was mostly a move to give the impression that SOMETHING is changing mid-season.  I think they realized that they couldn't realistically tell the fans that they were just going to keep "staying the course" and NOT completely alienate the fan base.  Khan is, so far, sticking to his "no firing of Gus" mid season stance, but basically.. someone had to get sacrificed to keep Everbank from being burned to the ground.

This is a great move.  Due to knowing marrone and how he his line is.  Can defiantly boost the running game.  So blake is not as far behind in the end.

We live and die bye the play of our QB.

Blake sucks right now

We suck right now.

Doesn't matter who's calling the plays.

He can't throw an accurate pass...

It's over
