Andre Branch

It's funny and kinda sad, the one time he looks like he's gunna do something positive it turns into a negative.

Do we not merge anymore? This is the second time I have seen topics with the exact same title right beside each other.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Drafting a DE (pass rushers) should always be a priority, regardless of what you may be getting from Branch at the moment.

Agree here. We still need a premiere pass rusher. Id like to see Branch become the strong end (LE like AluAlu is doing now) in this defense who sets the run and can sometimes pass rush while we find that true backside sack master at RE to take on the leagues LTs.

I don't think Branch can ever be a 2 gapping defensive lineman.

Isn't he a little slender for that role?

Didn't know where to put this so...

...a compilation of the players who are making the biggest difference each week.(from ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco)

8. DE Tyson Alualu (NR): He plays a spot that’s not going to produce a lot of sacks and therefore gets overlooked, but he was solid against the Bills. He had six tackles, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hit.

He's alot slender for that role. Red Bryant played that role in Seattle and is 6'4 320.

True, that is can take 2 or 3 years to develop. But I think it also true he has gotten better from better defensive back play. The years before we couldn't cover nearly as we'll (plus very poor de play) to save our life's. Maybe it's finally starting to come together as a team. I also hope we can find a stud in this draft or free agency.

I mentioned earlier how great Andre Branch is at seeking the QB when he's not directly engaging OLinemen...

Now imagine if the Jaguars had someone like Jadaveon Clowney that is just too talented to not be double teamed often. Andre Branch would thrive from someone like that.

Not sayin', just sayin'.

I'm confident whatever talent Branch has will be extracted by Todd Wash and Gus Bradley. It helps he's playing in essentially the perfect scheme for him

Branch has produced more, but its more due to the coaching staff than him IMO. He still doesnt do well in 1 on 1s, his sacks came from huge stunts. Its smart to use him that way but Im just saying we cant really on this guy to be an every down LEO.

Agreed he has earned the nod as rotational/ situational pass rusher.  He still doesn't look like a full time LEO, but is still miles ahead than the first half of the season.

One more young and (hopefully) developing player.  Not a bad thing to see.

What how can you not give him a lot of the credit? He is a young guy in his 2nd year and getting better, yes the coaching staff helps but you dont know how hard the guy has been working.
