I honestly believe we have a lot of talent; enough talent to have a winning record.   I truly believe that with decent coaching, meaning a new coaching staff, we can turn things around pretty quickly.   The one place we are seriously deficient is on the offensive line. 

 

But like I said, if you want some positives, I think that unlike previous years, we are not years away from having a decent record.

I agree with you. We have (at least on paper) dramatically improved the talent on the field. The probable reason(s) the team isn't doing better falls mostly (though not exclusively) on the coaching. A secondary (though significant) reason is the poor prioritizing of player selection by the GM. We should have been putting more emphasis on building the o-line rather than 'big name' defenders who aren't doing squat to really help us.

 

As I have reiterated over and over... it's a timeless truism in football: the games are won or lost in the trenches... not by glitzy quarterbacks, nor mouthy receivers. The o-line makes or breaks those guys.

There's a lot of positive things to be said for the Jags.

 

*I've gotten far more yard work done at this time of year over recent years than I normally would've thanks to the Jags.

*They've helped the seasons of countless other teams who were down on their luck and boosted the moral of those fans.

*We've demonstrated the truth of the old saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' by our new helmet paint. Voted ugliest in NFL.

*We've made the coaching record of nearly every other NFL coach look better by our coach redefining 'the bottom'.

*my wife and I have spent more quality time talking instead of staring blankly at the television on Sunday afternoons.

 

This is some pretty significant stuff! Not only have the Jags improved my life in recent years, but they've made the lives of many other people in the NFL community better. Too bad they aren't very good at their chosen profession.

I do agree with you 100%. I even think the Oline is decent enough to be much better with the right coaching staff.
