Was the name of my favorite bar at the Jersey shore when I was growing up.

When you were growing up?  What was the drinking age back then...12?

Have you seen my baseball?

Actually the legal age in Jersey was 18 at the time. Hence the vacations at the Jersey shore.

Anyone who says they wouldn't want to keep Gus after going 7-2 is full of it.

It would mean that he is the hottest coach in the NFL and what he is doing is working. You would be a fool to get rid of him at that point and pretty much everyone would be back on the Gus bus.

That said, the likely hood of that actually happening are pretty slim.

Even if Gus Bradley somehow beats the odds with the Jaguars finishing 8-8,  I think he will be back in 2017.   The current reality for Bradley as Jaguar HC is he's in a 3rd and 25 like situation.  The playbook for him to save his job appears limited.

You're correct. Going 7-2 against the remaining schedule, presuming most of those wins aren't forfeits from teams killed in fiery airliner crashes, would be very impressive, Gus would need to win all of his games left against teams that are currently .500 in their records, something the Jaguars have only done once under him, and also win at Indy, and still need to beat another three teams that currently have a winning record, something he's never accomplished in his time here.

Taking all of that into account I'd say our best shot at it would be both he and Belichick dying at the same time and for Bill's punishment from Satan being made to live out the rest of his life in Gus's body coaching the Jaguars.

I would put money on this.

  Understandably.

Even if the Jaguars finish 7-9,  with substantial improvement on Offense and growth with key long term Defensive players,  that could easily be enough to save Gus Bradley's job.   Some games will provide the Jaguars better opportunities than other games.   But much more consistency will be needed for Bradley to be given an opportunity to remain HC for the 2017 season.

If we are talking about the impossible, sure. Gus gets extended 5 more years!

Not happening. I'd be suprised if we win 2 the rest of the season.

7-9 was my initial expectation for this season, but to me, that would be an aberration. If it happened. Gus is a horrible coach, and not even a turn around will change my mind at this point. He needs to go, for the best of the franchise.

You do realize we only won 8 games the last two seasons (3 in 2014 and 5 in 2015) right?

Because Jaguars is our mantra  Wallbash

Unless something dramatically changes that we have yet to see,   I agree that even at 7-9,  going in another direction appears to be in the Jaguars best interest.

9-7? 8-8? 7-9?

Have any of you seen the remaining schedule? Jesus. Jags won 5 games with a cupcake schedule last year. Now they play real teams and will be lucky to win 5.

It's going to be a bad year but each week I expect someone so start a dumb thread like this one.

Winnable games: Texans, @Lions, @ Bills, @Texans, Titans, @Colts

Can't see us getting a result: @Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings

If we somehow manage to win those six games and lose the other three and finish 8-8, I suspect that would save Gus Bradley's job. This season was always about taking a step forwards and if we reach .500 that is a step forwards, it isn't as big a step as we would have hoped for in an ideal world, but it is still an improvement on previous seasons to potentially save his job. I think bringing him back after a 6-10 (4-4 finish) or 7-9 (5-3 finish) season would be a hard sell to fans but I suppose it is possible depending on what Khan decides to do. Personally I think a .500 season saves his job, anything less sees him out the door.

We'd be 9-7 and would have won against some really good teams. Possibly could win the division there too. If we win 7 of 9, Gus will be back, and some here might even start to be OK with it

I agree. The rest of the schedule is rough. I was interested in the hypothetical situation though
