Why not bootleg in that situation?  You can't just go straight at the teeth of the D without a FB to lead the way.  That play was set up to fail

It's only Hackett's first game and they certainly need to tighten things up a little to put together longer drives, but already the offense is looking so much better with the emphasis on the run game.

Same old offense. We ran exactly where they expected us to run and we were stopped, as usual. At least our running game is getting better, but if you can't run the ball on 3rd and 1 and get anywhere near the line, then is it really good?
