Its actually completely false. Nothing has changed with regards to Ireland's immigration policies and no deal has been struck to take any refugees from America. Completely made up story.

I don't like all this talk of European army or the talk that says European interests should supersede national interests.

I want an Eirexit.

This (the topic) is funny, because there are more Irish in the United States than there are in Ireland.  That's a fact.

Of course, I did not mean Irish citizens.  I apologize if I caused you to misinterpret my sentence.

Dont worry I'm just being a dick. Its just semantics with the way Americans say they are Irish but really mean Irish-American.

I'm an American of Irish decent. I don't accept a hyphen anything in my identity.

No doubt, American

Lol, I used to think I was mostly Irish when I was in HS, then later I did a family tree and found out I am most directly scottish with Irish and Anglo mixed in, as well as Native American.

So I would say that makes me fairly typical of anyone who has had family in America for over 100 years. Being mixed is about as American as it gets.

Bang on. I get that tons of Americans obviously don't have lengthy roots in the country but they are still first and foremost Americans.

Should have leaflets given to American tourists to tell them the quickest way to alienate themselves in Ireland is to call themselves Irish or to go on about distant relatives being Irish.

Ireland's schools aren't secular enough.  Might just have to move to a more liberal state until we're able to find jobs in another country--and hope most of Trump's worst ideas aren't passed, or don't effect whichever state we move to.  Maybe somewhere in New England.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Yeah the primary schools (6-12) pretty much force religion. The secondary (high schools) are mostly secular. Private schools have a heavy dose of religion.
