Make an arguement on why Caldwell should stay.

Crybaby fans started crying for him by week 3 of his rookie year and the weak coaches caved in. The coaches should have been fired after Bortles first game for ruining his development. The fans have 0 say on who plays. Don't pin this on the fans. It's the dummy head coach and the failure of the entire Jaguar program. ![]()

Nope this team sucks because of you and you should feel bad. Quote:1. Hired, yes. Hindsight is 20/20. As previously mentioned by others, he took a shot on an up and coming candidate that didn't pan out. That happens all the time. Retaining him... I don't really get the vibe that it's completely on him there. I don't see/hear Dave out there defending Gus. I see Shad doing so.Really dude? You are really going to argue that he has been good in the draft and free agency? If you are really this blind or naive there is no point in having a sensible conversation with you. Your oblivious. ![]()
So Gus gets a second chance to see what he can do with more defensive talent but Caldwell doesn't get a second chance on a coach?

Joke was considered a top 5 talent. Fowler was a top 10 talent. Ramsey was a top 5 talent. Bortles.... may have missed that one. It's not like he was taking reaches like Gene did. Caldwell found Telvin, Linder, Cann, ARob, Lee, Hurns, Jack, Yannick...... Quote:Really dude? You are really going to argue that he has been good in the draft and free agency? Quote:you are ignoring what the experts are saying about Caldwell's drafts...That's pretty asinine...The experts know more than you do, but you are going to disregard what they say and expect anyone to take you seriously...the experts have no clue what the Jags organization does or needs to do in any capacity. We are small market laughing stock to them and always have been after coughlin left. They might as well be guessing when they discuss Jags football which is never unless they are forced to. Ramsey Jack Robinson Hurns Lee Linder Cann Telvin Smith Let's not act like it's been nothing but misses. I'm oblivious? Sure. Ok. Everyone with common sense looks at the team and sees talent all over the field and is left asking why it isn't coming together (Read: Gus Bradley), but yeah, Dave hasn't found a single player worthy of the NFL. Some of you need to step back from the ledge a bit. The answer is obvious. Gus has to go. The owner won't let that happen, yet. Until that happens, there's no reason to head hunt anyone else.

If he can fix things with either a head coaching change and/or a QB change, that may be a better alternative. Unfortunately his replacement could end up being worse. Whatever you think of Caldwell, he's not to the level where "you can't do any worse".
Will an established winning coach be willing to work for a GM like Caldwell? It is not out of the question but it would be difficult. Sometimes money can solve this dilemma. With Caldwell, the Jags might have to settle and gamble with another coordinator. It will be back to the drawing board all over again.
When in Dave Caldwells first ever press conference as a jag gm he said" we will not pursue Tim Tebow", I knew he wasnt gonna pan out... I do believe he is good enough for 1 more season tho.. Naww i change my mind get rid of them all.

Quote:Dave seems like an ok guy, but he poisoned the franchise and subjected the fans to the awful scourge that is Paul Casey Bradley. When Bradley was hired, he was the hot coordinator who was interviewing to take the next step. We weren't the only team that looked his way, and based on where the team was, and what the vision was for moving forward, he seemed like the right guy for the job. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:I'm still in the keep Caldwell camp. I think it's too early to write off Fowler and Bortles (I'd bench Bortles for the remainder of the season though). Joeckel is bad but he was using Smith's scouts so I'll pass that one. His cap management along with John Idzik is superb. It's too soon to write off a QB that can't throw spirals? |
