Coaching Candidates

Quote:I do wonder how successful he'd be on a team without Aaron Rodgers.

Doesn't that apply to pretty much every Super Bowl winning coach?

Of course there are a few exceptions - but you better have an all-time defense otherwise.

Im going to go ahead and say I dont want anyone from the Belicheck tree. None have been successful and no player has seen success leaving him either.

Seems to be a dearth of good HC candidates this year, unless we get Coughlin to come in and groom a successor

Scott Linehan OC Cowboys is probably

Marvin Lewis and Mike McCarthy should head most people's list this year as far as new free agent coaching talent goes. Also im still high on Todd Haley as a possibility.
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."

Interesting read, notice the list says "recommended".

Take a look at who is on this committee in the last paragraph.

"Every year, the NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel compiles a list of recommended candidates for the inevitable coaching and G.M. vacancies. "

Because Jaguars is our mantra  Wallbash

Kevin Sumlin.   Took Texas a&m from nothing and made them better then they are.  Another one could see Tony Dungy,  Cowher be interesting.   Gruden could possibly turn around Blake.  Coughlin really?   Anyone from Payton to Carr Michael.

If you're referencing Harbaugh, no way he's leaving UofM.

Please not Josh McDaniels.  Please no.

*remembers saying please not Mike Mularkey.  Then it happened*

Shiitake Mushroom.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Another vote for Todd Haley

Quote:Another vote for Todd Haley

Are you aware of Roethlisberger's being upset with his coaching staff? I'm pretty sure I saw where Haley was a part of that.

If not, does that change your opinion of Haley?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Currently no

- HC experience

- Will be available

- Isn't afraid to get in a players face when needed

- Winning organization (Pittsburgh)

"We are undisciplined and not accountable," Roethlisberger said from his locker. "That's why (the Cowboys) are one of the best in the business and we're not right now."

When asked how the team got to that point, Roethlisberger said, "I don't know. Is it players? Is it coaches? I don't know, but we need to get there quick."

Theres no clarity on who hes really blaming here, but its a fair guess hes really talking about the steelers defense that keeps blowing games

I don't really get anything out of that quote that points to the Defense, but perhaps you're right. In any case, I'm not sold on Haley. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems like he's lucked out in having a HoF QB, one of the best WRs in the League and a stud RB to work with. Those three guys could probably make me look like a competent coach.

Nothing in the quote points to the defense cause big ben has been around and knows not to publicly crap on any part of his team. But theyve continually been the worst part of the steelers all season so i just think its a fair assumption.

I dont think haley is an amazing candidate but a solid one.

I'm confused why you guys keep talking about Todd Haley and tying him to the defense?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Deacon said Ben criticized his coaching staff, i posted the real quote and thought it was a disguised criticism of the defense, and not the entire coaching staff including haley.

Oh OK that makes sense. To me it sounded like you guys thought haley was the defensive coordinator. Nvm
