[BAD WORD REMOVED] the Refs

We lost this game on our own accord, not the refs.

I did. I said it in the game thread and it fell on deaf ears.

My feed froze mid tackle for about 5 seconds. As soon as it did, I got up to go get a cup of coffee. I knew it wasn't going to be called. The zebras didn't let me down.

3 straight plays, 3 straight blatent penalties, i can almost forgive 1 bad call in final mins. but 3 straight on 3 consecutive plays that were not even iffy but easy calls regs cost us the chance to win this game

Refs didn't give up a 75 yard TD.

Refs didn't call a timeout on 4th and short for the other team.

Refs didn't allow a 60 yard reception.

Yup we lost a legit 3 or  4 games due to the refs, that doesnt makes us great but 5-6 in our division would have us in position to compete for the division title

If just the bad decisions on turnovers were reversed, I could see this being a 6-win team at this point. We've lost three games on those, IIRC, and I can't believe the momentum from that wouldn't have given us an extra game as well. Of course, if that happens we're maybe one of the worst 6-win teams instead of the best 2-win team. Tongue Our problems this season aren't just from the refs - the horrible regression on offence is a big part of it as well, as are the special teams disasters. But give this team fair breaks and it's competitive despite its problems, and might have space to iron those problems out. They can play against eleven men, but eighteen is too many.

1. Considering Watkins pushed off to gain separation on the play and was not called for offensive pass interference, yeah, the refs DID allow that 60 yard reception.

2. But even assuming all of the above is true, a team shouldn't have to play an absolutely perfect game in order for the refs to call the games appropriately. The failure to play the perfect game does not justify inconsistency in application of pass interference rules. The failure to play an otherwise perfect game does not justify the refs not stopping the clock when McCoy stepped out of bounds.

1. Lee did the exact same play but didn't make the catch. The refs rarely if ever call that push off. Just watch Hopkins.

2. We didn't play anything near a perfect game. We shot ourselves in the foot like we do every game. We lost through inept coaching and bad play, the refs played a small role but didn't cause us to lose.

Whilst the refs hugely messed up various calls today we can't rely on getting them calls for us week on week. We have to play better so that we're not in a situation where we're blaming refs.

No, in this case they did. Turnovers are too big a play in a close game to just say "They should have played better and won anyway."

If it's just a case of random bad officiating, then you'll win some and you'll lose some on that front, and it'll even out. But that hasn't remotely happened this year; the Jaguars have been on the receiving end of the vast majority of the bad calls - especially where it's been game-alteringly bad. That's not saying they're a good team, or that Bortles is playing well, or that Bradley needs to be off the hottest seat in the NFL. But even with those things, the officiating has been bad, and I'm glad Bortles spoke out about it after this game.

Let's face it, the ref's have screwed us several times this season. But, we wouldn't be 2-9 if it was solely on the ref's!

Even the announcers started noticing the bad calls/non-calls.

They were really puzzled why the clock wasn't stopped forcing gus to call the TO

The refs were bad but we lost this game on our own accord through bad play and bad decisions like all the others this year. With or without bad calls by the refs this game was here for the taking but we found a way to lose like we always do.

The only game changing bad call that went against us this year was the Ivory fumble TD and even if we got that I'm sure we would find a way to throw the game away. Its our trademark.

You should watch the Green Bay game again and focus on ARob, you see less grappling at a UFC fight. That's been the defensive blueprint ever since.

So what? This is supposed to be another good loss?

Give me a break. Jags lost. No matter how you spin it, this team finds a way to lose. I'd say the Jags got fairly lucky some plays too. Greene fumbled the punt twice and recovered both. That rarely happens. Yea the refs made some bad calls and some really bad calls. Get over it. It happens every game to every team in the NFL.
