Mettenberger

#21

Murray's "average" arm looked pretty good yesterday.

And Mettenberger played like a man on fire!

Of course both had receivers that the Jags could sure use.

The back and forth on that game was just outstanding to watch.

Those two will be a success where ever they go.

They have the drive and the fire.

A month ago, I was somewhat high on Mett.  Now, I wouldn't touch him anywhere in the first three rounds.

why, this past month is the reason he should be taken in the first 2 rounds.

On the contrary.  He struggled mightily against Florida, and is off to a bad start here.

mightily? youre exaggerating, he had a solid game. they didnt really need him to do much because of how inept that florida offense is. they pretty much just kept running the ball from what i remember.

Somehow, I doubt you even saw the game.  He legitimately struggled making reads, feeling the pocket, and had an ugly fumble in LSU territory.  Not a good, nor solid, game by any means.

i saw the first half and he was solid. changed it because that florida offense was embarrassing.

Dang...at this rate Mariota may be a better option than Murray and Mettenberger

Haven't seen much of Mettenberger, but I'm of the opinion that Mariota has the most physical potential of any QB in the class.

Would you say Cam Newton has the most physical potential in the NFL?

Haven't seen much of him either, but I would say tentatively yes. Either him or Kaepernick. Which is interesting, because both of those and Mariota (all big, strong, fast QBs) are heavily used in read-option concepts.

All it took was one game for him and Murray to get extremely overrated. Both are mid-late round draft picks.
