And please don't say Coughlin for GM.
Scott Pioli or Eric DeCosta.

This is the one that I have the most "maybe's" about. He has definitely whiffed on our 1st round picks for the most part. But who knows, maybe Fowler and Bortles can shine under a new coaching staff. We'll see I guess. But he's hit on a lot of later picks. FA is a mixed bag. I'd be ok with giving him one more year. But if they can him, I'm not going to cry about it. I say give him one more year to allow the possibility of his high picks to shine under a new staff.

Quote:The bloom is definately off the rose when it comes to Caldwell.

The fact that Gus Bradley wasn't fired at the end of the 2015 season was the first sign that something may not be totally right with Dave.

The fact that Caldwell decided to sacrifice this season by not firing Gus after the San Diego game or at least once the Bye Week started was another red flag.

The fact that Caldwell thought that it was OK to allow fans to witness this mess even after the complete melt down on Thursday night was it for me.

I'm not saying I think Caldwell can't turn things around.  But I'm wouldn't shed a tear if he was kicked to the curb.  His lack of guts to get rid of Gus Bradley shows he's got a propensity for ineffectual-ism.

You do know that Shad Khan publicly said Gus wasn't getting fired, right? I've been on the #firegus wagon for two years, but I don't think Caldwell has done a bad job getting players in here. This roster, with the right leadership on the sideline, is pretty good. Past time for that change though.

No, Caldwell is arguably one of the worst GMs in the league.

I say yes. I personally have liked our draft classes and have had hopes our coaching staff could put something together. I know he has missed massivly on Gus but I want to see how his picks and every does with a dif staff. But at this point I dont care what happens I just want change.

Why dont say Coughlin? He is more qualified then Caldwell for the job, and have a impressive resume and ties to the city... He would be perfect..

I defended Dave all last year. I'm just saying that the fact that he's such a wimp that he couldn't see the writing on the wall to fire Gus means that there is no reason to be loyal to such a weak minded General manager.

There's a lot of assumption in your post.

I can't believe the majority of this fanbase (on this MB) thinks Caldwell deserves another year.

He has literally orchestrated the worst rebuild in NFL history

That's merely perception, not fact.

Is not collective perception just another word for 'fact'?

No, facts don't change regardless of perception.

There's a ~50% raging homer adjustment that needs to be made on all polls. Take half of the yes votes and add them to the no votes and you have a better sample IMO.

The sky is blue, bro.

2+2 is four.

All of us that do not work in the front office with Caldwell and Con only have asumptions to discuss.

Pretty much this. Hire Coughlin to run football ops, and clean house. DC missed on his franchise qb and hired the worst coach of all time. Bye felicia.

I would trust whatever decisions Coughlin made.
