CFP Final Four + all other bowl games

Quote:Not every day of the season, which is what really matters.

Psu lost a total of one more game than OSU did this year, so it's not like psu is a god awful team. Your team lost to them, deal with it and stop acting like a bratty little homer about it. No one has to agree with you, and nothing you say will make them. You accuse everyone of being a hater or a homer, and here you are, practically having a litter of kittens because not everyone will agree with you and slurp all over Ohio state. That's what happens when blind homerism kicks in.

Quote:So you're saying what happens on the field means nothing. Got ya. Makes sense. Why even play then, just name the final four at the beginning of the season and move on.

I think overall body of work means more than single game results. No one is going to say Pitt > Penn St. because Pitt beat Penn St. head to head. If only head to head mattered, you run into problems like:

Penn St. 24 - Ohio St. 21 (regulation)

Michigan 49 - Penn St. 10 (regulation)

Ohio St. 30 - Michigan 27 (double OT)

So who is better based on head to head?

But when you are trying to determine who gets into a four team playoff the head to head matters here, particularly coupled with an outright conference title.

I love how JW is caling everyone homers when she is the one supporting the team she roots for.

JW quit calling it one play when Penn State stuck with them the whole game and then handled a Wisconsin team (especially the second half) in the championship that took your team to overtime.  You're the biggest homer on this board and then when Florida becomes good you will act like you are a die hard Florida fan.

AMEN!

JW is the biggest homer of em all! Although I don't consider someone who claims two teams a true fan anyway.

I still savor the fact VT whipped OSU in Columbus the year OSU won the title.

It is true people arguing with me hate Ohio State and are blinded by that.

What litter of kittens are you referring to?

That means nothing this year, of course.

Nobody says Pitt is better than Clemson either. If head to head results were more important, Pitt would be a top 10 team because of those two wins.

Using the overall body of work instead of HTH results is what helped Oklahoma State completely recover from a shocking loss to Central Michigan. The Cowboys finished with a higher ranking than before losing a non-conference game on one crazy play. It is an example of why you need to look beyond the box scores. If only HTH results mattered the Cowboys would have remained unranked the remainder of the season - all because of one play that never should have happened. This is consistent with the CFP committee disregarding the loss at Penn State - which, if you think about it, can be blamed on one play despite everything else that happened - when Ohio State was selected as a final four team.

Based only on HTH, you would have to pick your favorite team because Michigan dominated Penn State and was one play away from beating Ohio State after leading most of that game. But Michigan lost to Iowa, who lost to North Dakota State and never recovered. Then it goes back to that Cowboys loss in September . . .

I hate to break it to you, but not everyone hates, or even cares about Ohio state. Just because they have a differing opinion than you doesn't mean they're only doing it because the hate the school.

You can not physically have (give birth) to a litter of kittens, it's obviously a figure of speech.

What she is failing to see is that she is a blind homer of Ohio State. It is easier though to say everyone else hates them, or is a blind homer for other schools.

Being a VT alum, it means plenty to me this year.  Always will.  We beat the champs and it can never be taken away.  It's somewhat a shared title to me.  We knocked out your QB and allowed you to put in a better starter.  Who knows if OSU would have run the gauntlet without doing so.

I just meant it means nothing in regard to Ohio State being a playoff team this year.

Michigan is the better team.

They were kinda hosed @OSU, imo.

But hey...

FSU could beat them...

I for one think Clemson might knock off OSU and we'll be seeing a rematch from last year for the National title
