Quote:gus is gone as soon as the last second ticks off the clock in Indy but, they will probably give him a ride home. I hope they leave his [BLEEP] in Indy. Wouldn't want him spewing his loser talk one last time on the plane ride home.

Quote:I wanted a head coach with a offensive backround. I'd like Josh McDaniels, provided he demonstrates maturity and humility in his interview (over his failed tenure in Denver); however, Smith has HC experience, and his defense is proven and would be much easier to draft and plug guys into than Bradley's. Perhaps the new HC would keep Hackett, who is at least getting the run game going to work around a mechanically-deficient QB.

Quote:We are going to need this. Its that time of year I'm reading that article and I had to laugh. He was HC of the Falcons for 7 years, and was finally fired for going 6-10. 6-10! If we had a coach go 6-10, we might put up a statue outside the stadium. Quote:I hope they leave his [BAD WORD REMOVED] in Indy. Quote:This just makes me hate Khan and Caldwell even more. I really hope the rumor of hiring smith is just that. This team needs an established offense oriented coach preferredly someone with previous head coaching. Get with the times and run a modern offense. Or at least find an identity and execute it. Quote:Wait... Gus is 57? Really? Do you dare question the legitimacy of info posted by capital sports report??? And no he's 50. Mike Smith is 57 though.
Can we still be Seattle South with Mike Smith?
I don't want us to lose the swag we built up over the past 4 seasons. Keeping players like Myles Jack on the bench because he doesn't fit our defensive scheme like Skuta does has been the epitome of the Gus Bradley era. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Can we still be Seattle South with Mike Smith? I don't want to be the Seattle south. I want to chuck this wonky hybrid system and go to a conventional 4-3 or 3-4 scheme. If we do that, I believe the defense will be even better than this year. I'd much rather get an offensive minded head coach though, because we've made great strides on defense, but our offense has back slid. I want to bring in a guy that I believe can coach up the offense. Jim Bob Cooter and Kyle Shanahan would be my top picks by far. I really like what both guys have done, re-invigorating their current QB's. I was hoping they'd be able to do the same thing here.
@jasonlaconfora Rams will likely move to try to get initial interview with Josh McDaniels for period when Pats are on the bye. K. Shanahan makes sense too
But lets sit here and keep Gus.

Shanahan makes sense too I think the lack of a Gus firing so far likely means Caldwell is finished here too. Would be more than a little shocked if Shad hasn't already had at least casual conversations with some prospective new coaches and/or GMs or their agents at the very least.
Just made myself a cocktail and had a thought...
OK, so Rex Ryan is more than likely not going to get another HC shot for a while. So I'd like to grab him as Defensive Coordinator. I'm thinking we need an offensive minded head coach. The Josh McDaniels option intrigues me. His ego is what caused his downfall. After having to tuck tail and head back to NE, maybe he's ready to be a legit HC. Hell, he won a playoff game with Timmy Tebow, for crying out loud. HC and OC - McDaniels DC - Sexy Rexy Playoffs in 2017, even with BB6 under center We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Just made myself a cocktail and had a thought... No. I can't stand Rex and he is completely overrated as a D Coordinator. Josh McDaniels was a big cheerleader for Tim Tebow to be drafted by Denver. That's enough for me to never want him to be head coach of Jacksonville.

That's enough for me to never want him to be head coach of Jacksonville. Is he an over-rated DC? I'm not so sure... I like his aggressive philosophy and his type of attitude would make our defense nasty!!! As for McDaniels, again, he intrigues me. I live in NM, so I see alot of Denver stuff all the time. McDaniels has a lot of baggage from his time in Denver. He basically blew up that team. But, with that said, he was a very effective game day and preperation/adjustment coach. What his downfall was that he tried to play GM from the HC position. If he's learned to stay in his lane, I could see him being a very good HC. I think he's the type of HC that we could actually get. Let's face it, we're not getting a top tier HC. McDaniels would be right there in the head of the pack of the 2nd tier of HCs that has alot of potential. |
