Myles Garrett, Future Jaguar?

#41

Quote:Agreed. He lacks the ability to rush the passer. At this point I hope he is our SAM and let Myles Jack sit behind Poz.

I'd put Fowler at SAM, Jack at MLB and Smith at WLB. Poz has been a huge liability in pass coverage this year. He's solid tackler, but lacks athleticism.

Poz is a liability? You might want to watch the games again. He has been looking good when I watch him.

I still believe Poz has one more good year left in him. He is playing at a very high level especially when it comes to the run game. He is a liability in pass coverage but it isn't a huge liability. Our pass defense this year has been tremendous. By adding a player like Jonathan Allen or Myles Garrett and moving Fowler to SAM our defense will be even better. Myles Jack gives us depth and he can sit behind Poz, learn the QB position of the defense, and come in on passing downs. If we end up having the top 3 pick one of those players will be there for us.

I'd keep Poz for another year but I would start phasing him out like we thought they were going to do this year. Let him stay at Mike on 1st and 2nd with Jack and Telvin outside and then have Jack slide inside in 3rd.

Let's hope the new coaching staff figures out where Fowler fits best. Regardless, Garrett and Allen should be the top 2 players on the Jaguars' draft board in either order. The combine should help determine which would be a better fit for the team.

Garrett or Allen would be an easy choice. I'm wondering who the pick would be if they are off the board

I would trade down but stay in the top 10 and take Jabrill Peppers, Jamal Adams, or Derek Barnett

Yannick/Roy(?)/Malik/Garrett

Fowler/Poz/Telvin

Prince/Gipson/someone/Ramsey

That's really really nice and young!!

A lot of what I see with his sacks are chasing or speed outside rushes

Eric Berry.

Would give us a leader on defense.  Really the only established leader on the whole team.  Poz is nice and all, but he's never been on a winning team.  We keep bringing in these free agents from other teams and expecting them to be leaders, but they were never leaders, just solid players on established teams.

I knew we were not going to phase him out this year.

Not trying to start anything, but do you think KC would let him go and nother even tag him?

They already tagged him this year.  They are right up on the cap for next year without Berry or Poe under contract.  Franchising him would cost them $13 million and then they need space for Poe as well.  There is certainly a realistic chance that he could reach FA.

He's going to Cleveland #1. I doubt they take a QB in the 1st round and wouldn't be shocked if they didn't draft any at all. Sure they will just bounce around the draft like last year and miss out on a ton of talent.

Browns are going Garrett. There's rumors floating around that they are enamored with him.

I hate Cleveland. All aboard the Jon Allen-hype train.

He will be the 2017 Joey Bosa.

Plenty of ability and production shown in college, but by the time we reach draft-day lots of people will convince themselves he is a "bust".

And then he will turn out to be a very good player after all.

I hope so. I would literally do backflips if he managed to fall to us.

Myles Garrett with this defense would be nightmarish for the league.
