Quote:Jags gotta draft this guy, throwing motion and arm strength is way better than you know who, plus he's fast runnerSo you want a smart white QB in October... now the kid has won the heisman and you're all aboard? Quote:I'm black and I like my QB to be white also based on historical precedent. Does that make me racist? No. It just makes you stupid. Historical precedent on the matter is skewed by decades of discriminatory practices
LOL at Manziel giving him advice. Basically, drink all the booze and bang all the broads you can. That becomes frowned upon once you're in the NFL
Quote:No.It's been a healthy 20 years of black QBs getting plenty of opportunities, imo. The data is there to at least make an argument for a correlation between the properties. At least to the extent of black QBs not being used as traditional QBs from a younger age due to more "athleticism" (That's their favorite term right?). I don't know. Since 1986 (30 years) we've had 2 black SB winning QBs. Russell Wilson and Doug Williams In that span we've had Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb, Randall Cunningham, Byron Leftwich, RG3, Vick, Kap, Geno, Freeman, Garrard, Vince Young and probably more than a handful more of later round guys. None of which panned out (Although McNair coulda/shoulda/woulda had one. Maybe McNabb too) In 2000 Vick was the first black QB picked 1st overall. Going from that time we've had 1 SB winning QB and 3 moderately successful black QBs (McNabb, Kap and Cam went to and lost SBs) The longevity of the careers can also be pointed to. Guys like Brady, Manning(s), Favre, Ben, Flacco.. long extensive histories of success. As opposed to 3-5 years of gimmicky run offenses that fade out due to lack of development or injuries. Personally... If we can get a QB from a school that was a 3 year starter (preferably 4 year player, I like my guys to be smart and graduate) played in a pro system and has the tools, I'm all about drafting him 1st, 3rd, or whatever. And I don't care if he's white, purple, green, or yellow, or black or brown..... I just wanted to play devil's advocate on that particular conversation as I've had it before with other people who I know not to be racists. Our theory is what I alluded to earlier.. That young black kids and teens are often miscast into these prejudiced roles of running QBs and coaches don't coach them up on how to be real QBs. Its all about how to win at your current level and you don't really care about developing much, imo. The younger you are the easier it is to learn and retain information and I think coaches at the pop warner and high school level have a lot to do with it. Another part is there are just less of them, I'd guess nationally 3/1 white vs black QBs. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:It's been a healthy 20 years of black QBs getting plenty of opportunities, imo.Good points, but honestly, you named eleven or so black QBs. In the last thirty years. Two Super Bowl winners. If you listed all the white QBs and did the math, the ratio would likely be worse than 13/2.

In the 21st century, we have seen a lot of black quarterbacks. |
