Todd McShay mock draft 1
|
If you guys click on the link which shows the entire draft, you'll notice that McShay has RB D'Onta Foreman as a first round pick at #25. He calls him one of the most underrated prospects in the draft. I fully expect his stock to go way up and I even see him being taken ahead of Fournette. For that reason, I would either say we trade down in that scenario or we stay at #3 and take Foreman. I believe he is just as good as Ezekiel Elliott is and he went at #4, so why not? I then spend my next few picks on offensive line talent and an edge pass rusher. I find a QB late in the draft, because I don't see any standout players at the position. I believe there won't be much of a difference between the QB's late in the draft and the ones which will likely to be taken in round 2. It'll be a crap shoot at that position.

Quote:Also... who's trading up at that point for a QB? I don't necessarily think they would trade up specifically for a QB. There are several guys like Tim Williams or Rueben Foster who may command a lot of attention as well. There will be teams looking to trade up in the draft, but it doesn't have to be strictly for a QB. No way in hell should we take a running back #3. Absolutely ridiculous.
Todd Mcshay is a nerd who doesn't even like to get sweaty. His mock is garbage.

I like Foreman as much as anyone, but he's just not even close to Zeke sorry.
I do think Adams is the 3rd best player in this draft, neck and neck with Foster, so I'm fine with this mock if the two stud DL are gone. Quote:Trade down, take Cook and load up on linemen. I like this man's plan.
I'd love a draft that looked like this.....
D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas Pat Elflein, OG/C, Ohio State Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas State Freddie Stevenson, FB, Florida State We show less advertisements to registered users. "Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
This would be the worst case scenerio. Either Allen or Garrett would be great picks. Naturally, there are no great choices worthy of the 3rd pick at q.b. or offensive tackle- both areas of great need. Hopefully someone will fall in love with one of the quarterbacks enabling the Jaguars to trade back and take either Adams or Cam Robinson. Even better, the Browns or 49ers will reach for Trubisky so the Jags get Allen or Garrett.
it all depends on free agency. if we bring in a pass rusher we could go with SS if Cyprien is not resigned.
Quote:We need the 49ers to win some games and we need to lose all of ours. Agree 100%. I fear we may win 1 or 2 more and that will cost a few spots. If we can secure that #2 pick, we're guaranteed Allen or Garrett. Could also use that as trade bait as well. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
It's his first one. His first one's are usually terrible.
Last year, his top 5 were 1. Bosa 2. Lynch 3. Nkemdiche 4. Ramsey 5. Goff Quote:I don't necessarily think they would trade up specifically for a QB. Is the value there to trade up for a guy like Tim Williams? I'm not so sure. Quote:It's his first one. His first one's are usually terrible. He wasn't way off. 3/5 were top 5 selections. People don't trade up that high unless it's a QB. Clowney was considered a once in a generation talent at DE (2nd most important position in football) and no one traded up for him. Quote:When was the last time someone traded into the top 3 for anything other than a QB? Do we know that Houston wanted to trade out of that pick? For all we know, they got offers and declined them, because they wanted Clowney all along. Quote:Do we know that Houston wanted to trade out of that pick? We don't know if they got offers but if people trade into the top 3 for something other than QBs, I'd like to see it. |
