Gus firing is inevitable, replacement already decided?

Quote:He wouldn't be putting the contracts together. I just think the football decision making is lacking overall, and it would be great to have Coughlin running the football side, while Khan runs the business side.So you meaning like taking Caldwells job? Would you hire TC first then have him conduct the head coach search?

Quote:So you meaning like taking Caldwells job? Would you hire TC first then have him conduct the head coach search? I would want Coughlin more as an overseer. Coughlin'S experience, connections and knowledge would be very beneficial to Caldwell, if he's kept. Yes, I would want Coughlin in on the head coaching search. Not sure if Caldwell can be trusted fully to make the head coaching decision... Gus is that much of a bust. I think TC is too old to be a head coach. Otherwise, I'd want him as HC.

Quote:I wonder how much of that was on Weaver, and his desire to win right away?Hard to say. I think most of the talent that won all those early seasons were the result of mainly the bumper crop of players we received with the expansion deal. I seem to recall his unwillingness to relinquish the power over personnel is what led to his firing here. I don't believe he ever had that power in New York.

I just thought Doug Marrone was here if Gus was failing.. now its pointless. Gus should have been fired once the first 1/3 of season was bad. What is the point of hiring DM if he never had a shot at saving the season

Quote:To coach the offensive line?I just thought he was here for the exact situation we are in.. gus fails, he takes iver an possibly earns a HC spot. I thought the front office was actually being smart Quote:Did DM take the job thinking he had a chance at HC?He was just double dipping. He was still on the Bills payroll. Made a cash grab here and seems to have added nothing.

So its safe to say that Gus knew he would not live up to the expectations and hoped someone who actually coached a winning team would help hide his ineptitude
Quote:He was just double dipping. He was still on the Bills payroll. Made a cash grab here and seems to have added nothing. ? The offensive line has improved quite a bit over the last few years...eapecially pass pro wise. Run blocking needs a bit of work but Parnell is awful and since Luke went out we havent exactly had a great lg situation. Quote:?I'll give you pass protection improvement but one could argue their complete ineffectiveness at run blocking has been the biggest issue of this failed season.

No doubt but our offensive line isnt exactky a supremely special unit besides Beachum and Linder. Cann is solid but has had his struggles. Not every OL coach is a miracle worker. Id definitely say the OL has gotten better than worse since hes arrived. Look at what he had to work with last year with Wiz, Beadles, Joeckel at LT, etc lol. Quote:one could argue their complete ineffectiveness at run blocking has been the biggest issue of this failed season. One would be very unwise to argue this.
The play calling and predictability of our offense doesn't really help our success at run blocking either, in my opinion.
