Normally I would not ask this question before the last regular season game, but we all know at least one coach (hopefully more) will be punted from Jacksonville next month. There is nothing left to save his job at this point even if we somehow win our last three games. While most people want to discuss some candidates for his replacement, I am taking the opposite route. Would any team want Bradley as an assistant on defense? Would Bradley be interested in taking a year off to wait for a better job like Lovie Smith did? Could Pete Carroill be interested in bringing his old friend back as a defensive assistant?

 

I have no doubt Bradley will want another NFL coaching job if given the chance. Coaches don't say, "I would have quit coaching anyway if I was not fired." Reason being they could have saved themselves simply by quitting at an earlier time. What they do say is, "I am not done coaching yet." Bradley might (no guarantees) say something like that in his termination press conference, assuming he has one.

 

So would anyone like to guess which teams might interview Bradley in the offseasoi? The obvious choice would be Seattle, but there are no expected job openings ATM.

If Gus Bradley is coaching in the NFL next season,   it probably will be as a LB Coach.   Maybe, he also gets an Assistant Head Coach gig with it.   Only if the Seattle or Atlanta Defensive Coordinator position opens up do I anticipate him being an NFL DC In 2017.

Unfortunately Pagano and BOB are safe.

And I think Mularkey has the tacks challenging sooo... I think he's given some more time there as well.

 

 

 

The NFL is a buddy league. One of his buddies will get a job somewhere and Gus will get an invite to be some positional coach.

 

He won't be a HC (I don't think he goes back to the college ranks).

And I'm not sure the Seattle Cover 3 is very popular anymore so I'm not sure anyone wants to bring him on as a DC with a scheme they have to alter their roster to.

Almost as bad as switching from 4-3 to 3-4.

 

Then again... Maybe Bevell gets a HC gig and brings Bradley to be his DC -shrug-

Coaches make room for people they want all the time. It's not hard to slap a defensive run game coordinator or assistant head coach title on to get your buddy in.

Gus won't have to worry about getting a job in the NFL due to guys like Pete Carroll who would like to help out their buddy. However, I think he would be best suited to coaching at the college level. Thankfully for his sake, money should not be an issue at this point. However, he strikes me as the kind of guy whom money does not even remotely effect his happiness.
