What scouts are saying about Teddy Bridgewater
|
Are you ready for a shocker?
Here is one: an AFC scout thinks Bridgewater is a second rounder. I hope he is a Texans scout. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...fl-scoutrs We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:6'3" is short now? what an idiot I was wondering the same thing. Doug Flutie is 5-9 and he was not too short. Size is overrated. The intangibles are more important than physical measurements.
I have no doubt in my mind that tb is going to be a franchise guy. Everyone needs to get picked apart. The worst thing they can say about this guy is that he is too skinny. You can always bulk up.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:6'3" is short now? what an idiot I don't think he is actually 6' 3" . I think he's closer to 6' 1", per what I see on the field. I guess we will find out at the combine. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:6'3" is short now? what an idiot It seems like few people think he's actually 6'3". The more interesting comment is saying he's "not dynamic or a special talent". Quote:It seems like few people think he's actually 6'3". The more interesting comment is saying he's "not dynamic or a special talent". what does that even mean? can he play QB? that is the question they need to figure out. being dynamic is not required.
Quote:It seems like few people think he's actually 6'3". The more interesting comment is saying he's "not dynamic or a special talent". He does a lot of things well, almost everything. But he does not do any one thing exceptionally well. I think thats what that comment reflects. I'd still select him without much reservation at all. The biggest reservation is the skinny frame.
Quote:It seems like few people think he's actually 6'3". The more interesting comment is saying he's "not dynamic or a special talent". So why is he listed as 6-3? I hate it when teams don't list players at exactly the height they really are with their shoes and socks off. I can understand if they count hair, but most players have straight, short hair, so that is rarely a problem. It really does not matter if he is 6-3 or not. Drew Brees is 6-1. You can't call him too short after reading his stat sheet. The scout who said that must not know what the word dynamic means in football. How can a quarterback who is ready to start in the NFL today not be dynamic and a special talent? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote: Huh? Are all 32 starting QB in this league "dynamic" and special talents at the position? I think not.

I can understand if they count hair, but most players have straight, short hair, so that is rarely a problem. A QB who is 6'1" gets discounted immediately by scouts because Drew Brees is a rare exception. In the last 10 years we've had 2 short QBs be successful in the NFL and teams will not risk a high pick on a guy who doesn't fit the template. Assessments of players are based on their weaknesses because NFL coordinators are adept at forcing you to do what you aren't good at, and a guy who doesn't do anything exceptional doesn't last. Edit: I'm not saying TB is a guy who doesn't do anything great, just talking in general terms. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
I've seen Bridgewater play. if there was anything i didnt like, it certainly wasnt his height. he isn't "short" by any standards.

Quote:well then i guess its over. he should hang up the cleats now. Not saying that, I have even said, I'd still draft him. But lets be honest here. He is short and he is skinny. He's not 6' 3". He'll be lucky to top 200 lbs at his weigh in at the combine.
Quote:Not saying that, I saw a computer model that put him at 6 feet and 1/2 inches tall and 197 lbs. If so then he is very slight for the position. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:I saw a computer model that put him at 6 feet and 1/2 inches tall and 197 lbs. If so then he is very slight for the position. Thats pretty much what I think he is, too (I've said 6' 1"). He's built like Michael Vick. That could indeed be an issue. If Bridgewater was 6' 4" 230, he'd be looked by most scouts as every bit the prospect that Andrew Luck was.....but he's 6' 1". and about 200lbs soaking wet, so he's not.
As long as the scout isn't ours......it doesn't matter. Whoever Dave picks....Teddy or Johnny or Blake or whoever.....I'm certain that he will have put the time and homework on all the QBs. Would love to be a fly on the wall when Dave, Gus and the scouts talk draft. We'll have to wait till May to find out.
